Slow heartbeat after recurrent miscarriages

Hello,
I'm new here but just wondering if anyone could help/advise/support....
Previously had 3 recurrent miscarriages, currently pregnant, scan showing 6 weeks plus 2, although I thought I was around 7 1/2 weeks....
So far pregnancy been fine, usual pregnancy symptoms so sign of miscarriage. Had an early scan yesterday, gestational sac and yolk sac look fine, saw fetal pole and heartbeat but heartbeat was slow.

I'm back next week for a follow up scan. Has anyone else been through this? Anyone have any stories/experiences of this? TIA xx

Hi!!

First of all congrats on your pregnancy and I hope all goes well!

I know how you feel as I've had one MC earlier this year, now 8 weeks pregnant but looking like another MC is on its way as I've had spotting that's getting heavier over the last week. Went to EPU for a scan and saw gestational sac, yolk sac and fetal pole as well as a HB. Was measuring slightly behind dates as well and with the bleeding no reason found, but it hasn't stopped. Back there next week for another scan but think it's not a good outcome for me.

Previously have seen many posts that sometimes at this early stage measurements can really vary so I wouldn't be too worried. Seeing a HB is usually a good sign. Did they say how high it was? I think there's some ranges it should be in but again, I think at this stage the HB only just started so can be slow to start.

Have my fingers crossed for you!!!!!

I was told that seeing a heartbeat between100-160bpm at 6-weeks was a good sign even if the embryo was measuring small.

Hi,

Thank you both for replying. I'm very sorry for your previous loss LAsandotto, keeping my fingers crossed that this time it works out for you.
They didn't tell me the rate, the radiographer just, said they'd expect it to be faster at this stage and to basically expect the worse. In a way in annoyed because everything is so small and I know most people say you can't really get an accurate heartbeat until around 7 1/2/8 weeks, as it can fluctuate and things can change.
From what I've read the heartbeat sometimes only starts at 6 weeks +2,this is the exact date I was measuring on Friday, at the scan. I feel as though I've already written this pregnancy off because of what she said.

It's just such a horrible situation to be in, I've had all these tests and no answers as to why it keeps happening. It's the waiting around and not knowing. I feel like this week is going to go so slow waiting for this scan.

Thanks ladies xx

I totally understand how you feel, it's nerve wrecking to be in limbo and the waiting feels like it drags on and on.

I know it's not easy but I'd say the next scan will hopefully show positive developments, I've read on here from ladies who saw the HB of their little bean jump up tremendously, there's always hope and it can just be a slow start.

Today you're pregnant with no signs of miscarriage and that's what I'd focus on right now. Smile

Keep me posted and have my fingers crossed for you that all will be well!!!
