Hi,

No idea why I have decided to panic about this now, as nothing I can actually do. But panic I will....

I am 11 weeks pregnant now, no issues so far.
I was told I was suspected to have BV and prescribed a week of oral Metronidazole, anyway this turns about to mean I finished the course 4 days after I ovulated/concieved.
I now see that this AB is not advised during the first trimester due to birth defects.
At technically 3 weeks pregnant would this have caused any issues? Would it have passed to the bundle of cells (guess it wouldn't have been a baby then).
I will ask the midwife at my booking appointment, but any experience to calm me over the weekend would be great.

I was in the exact same scenario as you, except I had the 4 tablets you take at once which was about 2000mg i believe. Taken around the time of ovulation / conception or possibly implantation, Im now 28 weeks pregnant, and have no concerns, all my scans have shown baby is happy and healthy Smile any midwife I spoke to didnt seem too concerned tbh, so i wouldnt worry!

Thank you @purplepolo, when I think about it, I'm sure the risks are minimal, the antibiotics would most likely have been out of my system before anything was passed through my blood stream.

I just can't help but worry about everything.
Thank you for sharing xx

Just been for my first consultant appointment. I asked him about this, to put my mind at rest.
He responded "we don't prescribe it for the first 12 weeks, you have got to 12 weeks pregnant, now we just hope it's ok"

This has done nothing to ease my worry. Now I'm a complete mess.
Anyone else with a positive story or experience?

It will be fine. I was in the exact same position- finished the course around conception time (can't remember the exact day) and I'm currently 36+6 with what seems to be a completely normal wriggly little baby! Remember that at 4dpo the embryo had probably not even implanted yet and would have been using its own yolk supply for weeks after so nothing will have passed to him/her. Congratulations on your pregnancy x
