Pregnancy Buddy - 1st Baby Due Feb 2020

I'm currently 18 weeks pregnant and I feel like this is such an exciting time in my life but I have no friends to share it with.

My partner is amazing, he has been so supportive and every couple of weekends we do things like go for dinner or to cinema etc. However I am really conscious that when his friends ask him to go out or do things he feels guilty because I'm left at home myself.

When I first found out I was pregnant my friends were really excited for me and now its like its old news and I don't even get invited out anymore. This never really bothered me because I don't really fancy staying out late watching other people get drunk.
But I think what pushed me to realise I need to meet some new people, is that I went for lunch with a friend who I have been really close to for years and she was so disinterested when I showed her scan pics and told her that I am having a little girl. She was so dismissive of it and never once asked about my pregnancy, just chatting about herself the whole time.

I just feel like it would be really nice to make new friends with people who are in a similar stage in their life to me. Someone to chat to/share experiences with or give and ask for advice.

So if you're looking for a pregnancy buddy let me know! :)

@Taneve Congtats!!

You're due the day before me lol!

Wow twins! Are you going to find out gender of babies?

OP posts:
Taneve · 19/09/2019 14:52

@Peachy95

yes, they (consultant) 50% thought they are twin boys but the little rascals wouldn't keep still so hopefully at my 20week scan they will be more cooperative and let us see!! Wink

Beck2277 · 19/09/2019 14:55

I'm old in comparison at the grand age of 31 but due in february too :) 4th feb and got my scan tomorrow which I'm so nervous for!

Peachy95 · 19/09/2019 15:23

@Taneve Congrats again! My bubba was the opposite, the first gender scan she was lying on her tummy and refused to move because she seemed comfy and 2nd time she was in a bit of a better position so found out we are having a girl but wanting to confirm at our 20 week scan!! How have pregnancy symptoms been?

Peachy95 · 19/09/2019 15:25

@Beck2277 Congrats!! How exciting getting to see your bubba again tomorrow!

Are you finding out if boy or a girl? I know a lot of people like surprises but I am too nosy Hmm

OP posts:
Beck2277 · 19/09/2019 15:29

We're planning on not finding out! So unlike me, give me a spoiler any day haha! Always want to know everything instantly but decided there is no real reason why I need to know so going to leave it as a surprise :) I'm so nervous about the scan as not felt anything I can be definite about being baby, so nerve wracking!!

Peachy95 · 19/09/2019 15:51

That is exciting not to find out, I wish I could have done it but both my partner and me are far too nosy!

Is this your first Beck2277? I'm sure everything will be ok tomorrow but it is natural to feel nervous. My 12 week scan I was so worried there wasn't going to be anything on the screen because after the first 10 weeks my pregnancy symptoms weren't as bad as they had been and I was feeling more normal again.

Hello! I’m expecting my first baby on 25th February Smile we are not finding out the sex, I like a surprise!

Peachy95 · 20/09/2019 09:48

@PumpkinsMum18 Congrats!! Exciting not to find out until DC is here! I am too impatient lol February seems like a lifetime away...

Is any one having a gender reveal party? People kept telling me to have one but I wanted to find out just me and my OH. Not sure on a baby shower either... only ever been to one before

Hi I'm 31 and due my 3rd on 23rd February 2020! Got my 20 week scan on the 10th october it's taken so long to come around! I've got 2 boys already and can't wait to find out with this baby! I'm thinking another boy and hubby thinks girl!!

Taneve · 03/10/2019 11:23

CONGRATS @Lou2120 [flower].

Please keep us posted as to the gender reveal. Wink

Peachy95 · 09/10/2019 09:34

@Taneve I haven't been on in a while, had some time off work and spent majority of the time sleeping!!

Funnily enough this morning I noticed my fingers have started to swell up and my rings are getting a little tight Shock . We had our 20 week scan last week and all was healthy and she confirmed we are having a little girl ❤

Congrats on your boys!! How have your pregnancy symptoms been?

@Lou2120 Congrats and good luck for your scan tomorrow, keep us posted on gender!

sorry @Peachy95 for the delayed response.

Congratulations on your Baby girl!! Flowers
I have noticed swelling of feet after a long day so i try to have them up on the Poufee. Also, weight in my Va-jay-jay!! ts hard to explain the feeling! but I have been doing my Pelvic floor exercises and that helps. Obviously getting Bigger but that was to be expected.

Taneve · 16/10/2019 13:10

@Lou2120 how did the scan go yesterday??

Lou2120 · 16/10/2019 13:49

@taneve it was last Thursday but all went well and found out I'm having a girl!!! I was so sure it was a boy! I'm so happy they are well and healthy it's a relief. How are you?

Peachy95 · 17/10/2019 11:43

@Taneve Thank you! Oh that doesn't sound good but at least your pelvic floor exercises are helping!! My appetite seems to have returned with a force, could eat anything at any time of the day!! I was actually considering going back to the gym and doing some light exercises. I dont seem to have anywhere around me that I can find that does any pregnancy yoga which is rubbish!

@Lou2120 Congrats on your girl also!! Flowers Glad your scan went good!
