Ketones and sugar

Hi everyone,

I've had sugar in my urine on the last three tests at the midwives. I bought some urine sticks and have tested myself. I have ketones of between 4 and 8 in my urine as well as sugar. I have a GTT test for the 1st and I have a midwife appointment tomorrow. What do you think she'll do?

Don't want to scaremonger here and will state I have no experience of GD. I do however have T1 diabetes and am 32+1.
I've been told if I get a ketone reading of 3+ I'm to go to A&E straight away. Ketones are serious and could lead to ketoacidosis.
I don't know what the midwife will do - retest your urine, definitely. Could your GTT be brought forward?

Non-diabetic here, but frequently getting 4+ ketones. I've been told that if I'm seeing ketones I just need to make sure I'm drinking even more. My doctor was only concerned when I was unable to keep any food or drink down at all. If you have glucose in your urine too, you may need to take action sooner.
