Hi just wondering what it should be as I was told today it's 119 and they only treat for 105 but I feel like absolute shit to be honest now. Is this low?

How far along are you? 119 haemoglobin is low for a non pregnant person (120 is the cut off) That's what mine was at booking bloods, but was told that they only treated for under 115. At 28 weeks my levels are now 110 and I was told that the levels they are now bothered about are 105 and under... 🤷

However, if you're symptomatic then push it with them. They don't take into account that some individuals might have dropped Hb more than others if they're still within range (I was upper part of normal range prior to pregnancy).

I'm 24 weeks I'm just so tired I'm sleeping 16 hours a day/night my chest keeps aching I've had an ecg that was ruled fine. Just everything keeps coming back to low iron

My haemoglobin was 121 at booking appointment and was 101 at 27 weeks. I am on iron tablets now thankfully. I have been feeling really rubbish for a few weeks now and thinking this may have been a big contributor!

Hi. You’ve literally got to be on your legs for midwives to suggest taking iron, drives me crazy. Get some spatone - it’s easy on the tummy and your body will expel what it doesn’t need. I did and I feel better.

Another vote for Spatone, it's a godsend!

Ah wow so it just shows the difference having enough iron makes, Ive got some ferrous sulfate tablets 65MGs but they make me feel really sick so I'll get the Spatone. Thanks everyone Smile

I got a letter through from my midwife this week to say I was mildly anaemic and to arrange to see my GP for iron. She had marked up the numbers and my HGB was 128 so the doctor was of the view there was nothing wrong 🤷‍♀️
I'm glad but just a bit frustrated as he couldnt understand why I'd been sent the letter.

Bloody hell, what i'd give to have Hb of 128 right now!!
