In agony at 5 weeks

I’m exactly 5 weeks today.

For the past few days I’ve been getting excoriating cramping pain and I need to go to the toilet straight away most occasions (TMI sorry).

I didn’t have this when I had DD and I miscarried at 9 weeks recently and I didn’t have this with the pregnancy although in both pregnancies I experienced painful cramps at the beginning. It’s not to dissimilar to labour pains.

Am I miscarrying again? Has anyone had this?

I think you need to phone your GP and get an immediate referral to the early pregnancy unit.

I was in alot of pain at 5wks i had to go get a scan then again at 7wks they diddnt know what my pain was but i had it up until i was 10wks. Hope all goes ok but do call & get checked over.

Call your GP straight away or 111. I'm pretty sure that extreme pain accompanied by going to the toilet is a sign of ectopic. I may be wrong. But you shouldn't be having pains like that. Please get seen asap.

CornishMaid1 · 18/09/2019 08:49

If you are getting severe pains I would be concerned about ectopic pregnancy, so second calling your GP immediately. Better be safe than sorry.

I'd see a doctor ASAP. Some cramping early is normal but excruciating pain is not.

starlightmagic · 18/09/2019 08:56

Please get it checked out, however if I have an upset stomach I have the most excruciating pains before the ‘urge’ to go. So this would be normal for me however it’s not worth the risk when your pregnant Smile

I had this exact thing between 4-6 weeks. It was horrible pain, I was in tears and panicking but I realised it was to do with going to the toilet. I found that it was worse if I was a bit blocked up so I ate my body weight in prunes, drank masses of water, and a few days later it was better. I've then had a few cramps on and off since but nothing like that since. I've had a few scans so far, am 14 weeks now and everything is great.

Thanks all.

It went away for a few hours and came back. I don’t know if it’s pregnancy related or a long bug but no one else in the house has it!

I’ve been getting green and yellow mucus when I wipe . I should have also mentioned that I have adhesions on my bowel which may be causes the pain but I didn’t have this in my previous two pregnancies.

When I saw the dr when I had my miscarriage at 9 weeks, she said they don’t refer anyone to the EPU until 6 weeks so how would I know if it’s ectopic Confused

Maybe you have some kind of infection if you are getting yellow/green discharge? I also get yellowish discharge on and off but I had loads of swabs done and all came back negative apart from slight thrush. May be worth seeing GP/nurse so they can rule all of that out and rule out a UTI as they can also be very painful! Hope you feel better soon!
