Hi I'm 24 weeks now went to the MAU today as I've been feeling so bad and they did swabs, bloods and urine I was told my urine has traces of protein in and then that's it?

I'm worried what it could be as lately I am so tired I'm sleeping around 16 hours a day I don't feel myself I feel very depressed etc just foggy so I did think I was low on iron but they haven't called back to say anything. I'll call them tomorrow and try and find out but just found it strange that it was in my wee

Protein in your wee could be a sign of a urine infection which could make you feel tired/ foggy. If that's the case they would usually prescribe antibiotics. Were all your other assessments (blood pressure etc) normal? Good idea to ring them tomo to clarify.

Get them to also do your bloods for thyroid - TSH/TTF I think they are. You might have an under active thyroid. Sorry can't help in the protein but maybe a UTI?

Protein doesn't usually indicate a urine infection but if your bp is high and you have swelling it can be a sign of pre-eclampsia, do you have any of the other signs? However if they just discharged you without saying anything I region they found nothing to worry about?! I am 27 weeks pregnant and from 23/24 weeks have slept loads! Luckily I'm signed off work with other issues because I'm always asleep and I also feel very sob so maybe my iron also , but again if bloods have been taken they would tell you if anything to worry about hun just rest up

Trace protein without swelling / high bp is a sign you aren’t drinking enough water and could explain your fatigue too. Up your water intake - take something with electrolytes (like coconut water) if you have to

Hi so spoke to midwife apparently everything is normal my bloods said my iron level is 119 and they only treat for 105 so I'm a little disappointed it wasn't lower, as I thought if it was could have a tablet and just feel myself again. Back to the drawing board now Confused
