Sterilised and four positive tests

Four years ago after my last son I was sterilised and thought that was my last child.
The other week I felt ill and something made me do a pregnancy test and one of them was positive!
I went to the doctors and she Repeated the test, it was negative.
She told me to do another one two weeks time.
Today a week on I felt sick so did four tests later!! All positive! I’m in shock and disbelief and if I am I would be just over 3 weeks and I’ve booked to see the doctor again on Thursday.
I’m sure my tubes were burnt too not just tied.
I would be due in may 2020 I think depending.

Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Goodness! 😮 I have no experience or advice but this really must be quite the shock .. I hope you can get some answers quickly! I’m sure your doctor will be able to see records of the procedure & refer you on for urgent scans..

Thinking of you 🧡

ISmellBabies · 17/09/2019 20:40

Congratulations!

sashamichele · 17/09/2019 20:46

Omg I have 5 kids too and am seeing my gp tomorrow to ask if I can be sterilised Confused

Nan0second · 17/09/2019 20:49

Sterilisation at Caesarean section has a failure rate of 1 in 100-200.
You need a scan within the next week or so to rule out an ectopic pregnancy - this is high risk with pregnancy post sterilisation sadly.

Netty40 · 17/09/2019 20:49

Thanks guys just hope it all goes smoothly.
Apparently there is 1 in 200 chance of the tubes growing back! So I would give advice to anyone that nothing is impossible! Xx

Life finds a way!!

MeanMrMustardSeed · 17/09/2019 20:50

Echo get scanned ASAP. Need to rule out eptopic.

villamariavintrapp · 17/09/2019 20:53

Sterilisation isn't actually the most effective contraception. Hope it all works out for you though!

Starlight84 · 17/09/2019 21:03

Oh goodness! I’m having a third section in jan and being sterilised! I bet you were so shocked! Xx

Krazynights34 · 17/09/2019 21:21

This is lovely 😊 (though unusual!) xx

Netty40 · 17/09/2019 21:24

I will keep you all updated as I want to rule out Ectopic also.
I would recommend anyone thinking of getting sterilised that it isn’t 100%.
Finger crossed for me

THNG5 · 17/09/2019 22:17

🙈 Wow! I was sterilised in May after having my third. They mentioned the failure risk but I assumed they meant straight after. Not x years down the line! Bloody hell! Good luck to you.

ameliathomas84 · 17/09/2019 22:36

Netty40 · 17/09/2019 22:45
