Top of bump sore to touch

Does anyone else have this???

My baby LOVES my right side and I am forever pressing around on it as it can be quite painful.

The past week I have noticed that when I seem to get up from laying down it almost feels like my muscle in that area is being really pulled and stretched and the area is now sore to touch... almost feels like sunburn kind of sore however the area is not red at all. I always keep getting popping kind of sensations in the same area.

I'm 36+5

Hi, I'm 35 + 5 and I get this, the very top of my bump just under my breastbone gets really sore and it feels like the muscles are being pulled quite hard sometimes. My baby is hanging out on the right side of me too, rather than in the centre so I think that's what is doing it. I mentioned it to my midwife and she said it was most likely the way the baby was lying putting pressure on those muscles.

I had this from about 27 weeks & I'm almost 40 weeks now! Mine would also feel like it was burnt, with occasional numbness and pins and needles. I saw a midwife and a physio about it and both have said it's just the muscles stretching. It does reduce once baby drops and I hardly get any pain now. I found trying to create more space in my abdomen - lifting my arms up when it was painful and going to pregnancy yoga helpful.

Not pregnant currently but getting flashbacks Grin assuming it’s just because everything is so stretched out constantly

Also get this, feels exactly as you describe - just the skin stretching :)

I had this, bruised skin feeling. I used lots of tummy oil which helped a little but now I've had the baby I have a huge area of numb skin I could literally drive pins through without noticing. I'm losing hope that I'll get any feeling back

Ahhhhh thanks ladies!!! It's nothing like I've experienced before and only recently been getting it, glad to hear I'm not alone but sorry you are all suffering with it too! X

I've had exactly this since about week 30 and I'm now 39w. Even down to the popping sensation. It got to the stage where I couldn't wear any clothes that even touched the area (I was on holiday in a private villa over summer, thank goodness!) and had to cover it with a cloth in the shower.

I put it down to diastasis recti which the physio diagnosed by doing an ultrasound. At week 30 I had about a 3cm abdominal separation at the top of my bump which only must have got wider.

It's still sensitive but a lot less painful since the baby dropped a few weeks ago.
