Nervous about my eight week scan

I have an eight week scan booked at the end of this week. I’m just so worried that there won’t be a heartbeat or the baby’s measurements will be too small! Are those the only two issues they really look for at this stage? It’s going to be a long week waiting...

I’m sorry to hear you are feeling so nervous, but it is totally normal to feel this way.

From my experience, these are the two main issues that can arise. I had a MMC found at an 8 week scan, but also a perfectly healthy baby identified during my next pregnancy.

I worried myself to death about both and the results were what they were, it made no difference. Please try to keep yourself busy, I know this is easier said than done! What I’m trying to say is that worrying won’t change the outcome, it just steals the joy from the moment.

I have my 8 week scan next Tuesday after a previous miscarriage in June this year.
I had a scan at 6 weeks as i had some bleeding but all was well, i relaxed for a while but now getting closer to the next scan i know how your feeling. Just counting down the days, i know this week will drag!

@Eggcellent29 is totally right, worrying will not change the outcome. Try and relax this week and what will be will be.
