Bleeding at 14 weeks

I’m freaking out as I’ve had some very light (but bright red) bleeding this morning. It seems to have stopped for now but this is the first time I’ve had bleeding and I’m terrified. I rang the emergency number I had for the midwives and the one I spoke to said to call back if there’s more blood over the course of today. I asked if they’d do a scan if it continues and she said no, just an internal exam with a speculum.
I guess I’ll book a private scan but the wait is going to be agonising. 😞

P.S I've been coughing a lot since yesterday due to my asthma and my DH suggested maybe all my coughing could have led to the light bleeding... anyone think this is possible?

I had a massive bleed 14 weeks (bright red gushing) I was lucky a&e had the facilities to scan me. Was due to a low placenta (they don't usually tell you that until 20 weeks because it usually moves)

Had bleeding pretty much every day from until he was born. It was always unexplained and just one of those things.

It's bloody scary but try not to panic. It's likely harmless but keep an eye and if you can get checked over

Thank you for the reassurance @Mintypea5. Trying not to worry!
