Negative then positive same test?

I took a preg test yesterday morning and it was negative. Left it in my handbag to dispose of today, just went to throw it away and it's now showing a VERY faint positive line? Is this because it's been left too long?

Has anyone had this before and turned out to actually be pregnant?

The "pee stick" still has pee on it if that makes a difference lol TIA x

EDIT: the line is pink, not grey or white. So don't think it's an evaporation line

Yes. Once you've gone over the time given any result will be invalid.

Doesn't mean you're not pregnant, just test again in a few days.

Yes, I had this happen...i am now pregnant!!
Negative test... went out and drunk prosecco....
Took another test a few days later as I was still feeling sick - clear positive
Looked back on the old stick and that was positive too!

Happened to me too. I had a faint positive after the alloted time, had a few drinks assuming it was not true. I then felt shabby for a few days and did another test and got a very strong positive. I wouldn't rule it out.

That said though, it is outside of the time so you will have to wait and see. Goodluck!
