Fit to fly note

Hi,

i am due to fly to zante next friday and will be almost 12 weeks pregnant. The midwife said its fine for me to fly but to just let the airline know.

The airline have replied and said it is fine to fly but I need a fit to fly note off my doctor! I have rang the doctors who said they might charge £20 for this.

Have people who have flown in the past got a fit note or just travelled anyway? I am not sure whether I dare risk not getting one?

I had a fit to fly note but most airlines only request them from about 27 weeks I think. I was 6 months when we flew to Zante

You won't need it for being only 12 weeks. I have just been to Cyprus at 20 weeks and didn't need anything. Didn't even inform my insurance. :)

Thankyou for responses.

I have just checked Thomson website who I am flying with and it says on there you only need one if after 28 weeks so not sure why they have told me I do.

Pleased I didnt pay for one :)

My midwife did it for free and I didn’t even get asked at the airport even though I’m obviously very pregnant now! I wouldn’t even bother at 12 weeks personally.
