Pregnancy not feeling real

Found out I was pregnant during a routine doctors appointment for some kidney trouble I've been having. Shocked is an understatement, been with my dp just over a year and certainly was not ttc. This was just over two weeks ago now and cannot get my head around it at all just feel like it's not happening to me if that makes sense. Don't have much in the way of pregnancy symptoms either which isn't really helping. Was anyone else in the same boat, how long did it take to sink in? Don't get me wrong I'm very grateful, I'm not complaining about the actual pregnancy.

Hi @SorryWhatNow

I'm currently 30+3 with my first and I think it's really normal.

Only when I had my first scan did I truly believe I was pregnant and then at 16 weeks when I heard the heartbeat etc.

Having an anterior placenta, I didn't feel much movement before 20 weeks either (greatly increased after 23/34 weeks).

Now there's no mistaking it! I have a bump and a constant little wriggly reminder.

It'll sink in x

Hi OP, I know how you feel - I’m seven weeks now and it feels so surreal, especially as I’ve also had very few symptoms. I’ve booked an eight week scan now, which I’m hoping will help it all sink in!

I'm sitting here with 4 week old DS snoozing on my lap and I still have moments when I think it's not real. I don't think I ever thought the pregnancy was real the whole 9 months (I had a c section and my main - and totally irrational - fear was that they'd open me up and there wouldn't be a baby there). But here we are! Congrats on your pregnancy!

This is me - I'm 9 1/2 - 10 weeks gone and I still don't really believe it. We've had a scan and saw a heartbeat, but I don't think until there's a bump and something more real I'll really believe it properly.

I think it's quite normal!

Congratulations! X
