New pregnancy or left over hcg from miscarriage?

Hello,

So I’m a bit confused as to whether I’m currently pregnant or still recovering from my missed miscarriage.

I found out at 9 weeks at a private scan my baby hadn't grown from the week before and no longer had a heartbeat.
The next day I had it confirmed at the doctors that it was no longer a viable pregnancy and was scheduled for a D&C a week later.

I’m now 4 weeks post D&C and took a test as I had sore boobs which I never have unless I’m pregnant.
I took the test at 4:30pm I had drank lots of water during the day and had several wee’s already so it wasn’t a strong urine but it came up with a very noticeable positive straight away.

Would you say this is a new pregnancy or still coming down from my miscarriage?

Hi, difficult to say as for me I didn’t get a negative test until up to 6 weeks post miscarriage (I only did a test once though).

That said I also had a pregnancy without a period immediately after one of my miscarriages.

Best thing is to probably wait another week or two and test again.

@crosser62

I had my hcg levels checked on Monday and it was at 11 which I just think is too low to be detectable on a pregnancy test unless it has risen since then meaning it is a new pregnancy, think your right though I’m just going to have to wait and retest and not stress about it 😬

Free early results can pick up hcg at 6.5. You could either leave it a week or 2 and test again or speak to gp to see if they will do blood tests 48 hrs apart to see its increasing. Sometimes it can take a good few weeks for the levels to drop x
