Is intense hunger in early pregnancy normal?

I am only 4 weeks pregnant with my first, so very early, but I am finding that I have the need to eat constantly. For example for breakfast, cereal just isnt enough, I need cereal and toast. At lunch I ate my normal meal which would fill me up, but at the moment it's just not. Dinner time, I can have my meal and feel full, then within half an hour my stomach is going. I am trying to subside the hunger with healthy snacks but finding it hard. Is this normal or am I just being pigish?

Perfectly normal in my experience. The nhs guidelines will tell you there is no need to eat more but if your period makes you eat more, imagine what creating a new human does.

@DaisyRose144 I have this now and currently 9+4, if I dont eat or feel full I feel sick instead and seem constantly hungry and before pregnancy I was quite a small healthy eater.

At work I'm pretty much having to eat every half hour to keep nausea at bay, I'm trying to snack on fruit/veg/healthy snacks but sometimes cant help but reach for the naughty things!

I'm hoping it subsides or I'm going to be the size of a whale!

Same here! I feel like a bottomless pit. Just constantly hungry :/

In the first few weeks I used to wake at 3am and eat cereal. I have never done that in my life before. It stopped after a few weeks

I would describe it as a burning hunger. I devoured bowl after bowl of Cheerios!

Same. First sign I was pregnant before test went out for dinner came home and had cereal as still hungry!

It is normal to be hungry and to crave food sometimes. I was like that. Once you have the baby you'll be back to normal in no time.

Normal, I had to eat every 2 hours on the dot otherwise I felt so sick and unable to function. Decent amounts too not just a little snack.
