im 18+1 with first baby and have started to feel the baby move alot (i have placenta at the back and have been feeling movements for couple weeks)

I just wondered how long it was before other people can feel them move? I feel a bit guilty that I can feel baby and partner cant - is that a normal feeling or am I being silly??? Would really love for him to put his hand on my tummy and feel something soon! x

My husband started to feel small flutters from about week 23. At 31 weeks its really easy now for him to see and feel them. Sometimes he just sits watching the bump move! It's so cute!

From about 21-22 weeks my DH could see and feel baby moving.

Don't feel guilty. Give it a while longer and you'll be wishing he could experience all the movements instead of you. Even just for a hour it would be lovely to lie down or relax without being beaten black and blue from the inside. Grin Grin

Mine has been able to feel them from around 18 weeks.

I'm 26+6 with a posterior placenta and my partner still hasn't felt the movement yet... every time he tries to the baby stops moving about! I'm hoping now that the movements are actually making my belly and myself jump that he will soon feel them. So you're definitely not alone, I feel bad sometimes too :)

LauraLooDerby · 10/09/2019 16:32

I'm 27 weeks with my first and my partner has only just been able to feel it this past week - and has only managed to catch it once!
I also feel a bit bad but know that it will get more obvious :)

Peony99 · 10/09/2019 16:35

Mine could be felt from the outside about a week after I first felt them - so 19 weeks ish.

But everyone's different, and it depends on your build and where the baby is, I think?

Orangedaisy · 10/09/2019 16:35

Both mine dp could feel easily from 18 weeks. Sonographer at 20 week scan for Dd1 did a massive raised eyebrow at me when I said we could feel from the outside so early, then apologised when the wand thing took a firm booting!!

Why would you feel guilty? It's you that has to suffer all the downsides of being pregnant so you might as well enjoy the nice bits!

Anyway my DH has been able to feel from about 22 weeks, I've an anterior placenta this time and think it was earlier in my previous pregnancies.

PlinkPlink · 10/09/2019 17:10

Yeah I'd say 25 weeks for first one? I used to roll over to go to sleep, stomach against partners back and he'd feel the kicks in his back 😂😂 we always had a little giggle at that

Peterslee · 10/09/2019 17:15

I had the placenta at the front so there was a big area that my husband couldn’t feel the movements at all!

18 weeks here. Baby likes to sit hard on my right so that was how he was able feel
