Should I be worried ?

I'm 33 weeks and have had a painful pregnancy but the pain is so much worse at night when I'm lying on my side. It's agony every night and I dread going to bed because as soon as I fall asleep I'm woken up by the pain.

I'm not sure if my bump isn't being supported properly or maybe maybe is in a funny position.

Does any one else suffer with this, should I be worried?

Thanks

Where is the pain?

mistermagpie · 09/09/2019 22:46

Agony doesn't sound right, no. I'm on my third pregnancy and yes, by your stage it's uncomfortable but not agony (unless you have SPD or something that you haven't mentioned?).

What is it that hurts?

In terms of support, I've got a little firm wedge shaped pillow that I, well, wedge under my bump and that feels more supportive than a normal cushion or those long pregnancy ones. I got it in mothercare.

If you're in agony you need to get checked out. Uncomfortable as PP said but not agony. I had a long pregnancy pillow from mothercare which I tucked under my bump then propped one leg over

@mistermagpie @Needcoffeeimmediatley

My whole tummy hurts, like really heavy pain, I can't even move around in the bed without it really hurting and it's so painful trying to stand up. The pain dulls if I sit up but doesn't go away.

I would get checked out, your not meant to be in agony as PP's have said

Get it checked!!!

Quail15 · 10/09/2019 09:01

Definitely get it checked, it's probably nothing but better to make sure.

I ignored a constant sharp pain under my ribs during my 3rd trimester ( just thought it was my baby pushing against my ribs). it turned out to be pre-eclampsia - I didn't have the protein in my urine so it was never picked up at my midwife checks. All was fine in the end but I wish I had mentioned something earlier so there was no panic at the birth.

I'm 40 weeks and it's a bit uncomfortable but definitely not agony. Def go get checked!

Make sure you're moisturizing your bump every night and sleep with a pillow supporting it. But yes also get it checked if it's that bad x
