Gut feeling about scan

We have booked an early scan for tomorrow (will be 11weeks). Due to waiting time for the midwife booking appointment, we won’t see her until this week, so assumed that scan may not be until 12-14 weeks and couldn’t bare waiting that much longer. Has anyone else just had a gut feeling it isn’t going to go well? I expect everyone feels nervous about it but I can just shake this feeling there will be no heartbeat. Is that normal to feel like this?

Absolutely, everyone feels like this. It's a massive thing that is happening to you. If you have had a positive test and no bleeding then the overwhelming chance is that everything is fine

I think most people feel like something has gone wrong. I wonder if it’s a coping mechanism that we brace ourselves for bad news. I expected them to tell me I had never been pregnant and that it was all in my head. I even tracked when my periods should have been and reminded myself how many I had missed and kept looking at the photo of the positive test Blush

That’s very reassuring @BillywilliamV - I’m 6 weeks along with no major symptoms, which is making me worry that something isn’t right. I’m hoping I’m just one of the lucky ones who gets through the first trimester with very little sickness!

Good luck tomorrow @20TinkerBell20! Flowers

I've had 2 early scans with this pregnancy after an early miscarriage last time. Both times I've been so surprised to see a heartbeat as I had convinced myself it had gone wrong. Even my 24hr morning sickness disappeared before the last one but I think it was just nerves. It's been a week since the last one and I'm properly worrying again!
Unfortunately you really can't tell until you see that screen. Best of luck xxx

I've felt like this in all 3 of my pregnancies, my 3rd one was successful and I'm now looking at my 16 week old. But the 2nd pregnancy was a mmc I just knew deep down something wasnt right and thought I'd had a missed miscarriage when I was scanned at 13+6 I was right. Baby had died a couple of weeks before. Not saying this is going to happen to you though!! I had no symptoms with any pregnancy not even my healthy one x

Had our scan today and baby is completely fine. In fact measuring 4 days ahead of what we thought. I was literally shaking with nerves when we arrived. Thankyou so much for your replies to make me realise it was completely normal to feel that way.
