Sorry to duplicate a thread in style. Perhaps this is a better place for it.

I can't find any trousers to fit, apart from Blooming Marvellous jeans (have 5 pairs the same because they're perfect). Next stuff doesn't fit me at all. I found some on funmum, but their website was too annoying to pursue that any further, and they didn't have quite what I was looking for. I need to be able to buy them online as there anren't any decent clothes shops near me.

I can't be the only short pregnant person can I?

Hi Muffin, I am also 5ft 1 and a funny shape - big hips and small waist ( or what is left of it!). Just on the subject of things falling down I bought a 'bump band' which is just a wide stretchy band to go over the top of trousers and under tops. It looks like another top layered underneath and is also comfortable on my bump. You can get more expensive ones on the internet or cheap ones from top shop. Hope this helps. x

i got some at la redoute for my dd and believe me shes short,

I loved Next stuff, but I wear my trousers long and I am 5'1" (although I do have them taken up if too long - Superstitch only charge £5 for this).

I loved their range with the big panel that pulled up over my tummy, gave great support. The ones with the side panels just fell down and annoyed me.

Yup, I found them in the Milton Keynes branch which is quite a big store, so they do exist - might be worth asking if you can order a pair and try them on to see. They weren't exactly 'smart' trousers though, but as I don't have to dress up for work any more I'm not that bothered - I just needed something for 'hammering' round in!

I think somebody on the For Sale board here on MN is selling size 12 trousers in "petite" -- I assume that means short length?!

jojomamanbebe does a regular length that is quite short, well short enough to fit my phenomenal 5ft3!

MuffinMclay · 11/08/2007 19:53

Must try JoJo again. I'd forgotten about them. Last time their stuff was far too big, even in the smallest size, but I am much wider now.

PigeonPie - thanks for that. I'm only about an hour from MK, so might drive over and check M&S out.

M&S do great jeans in short, medium & long so you may get lucky there.

Donkeyswife · 12/08/2007 21:45

Muffin - sorry to duplicate answers here, but TOPSHOP do fantastic maternity trousers and in various lengths including short! You can buy online at www.topshop.com and click onto their maternity range. Their stuff is not that cheap but the under the bump maternity jeans I bought 2 years ago whilst pregnant, I'm still wearing now. And, I know they currently have a sale on, so you might get a real bargain. Good luck!

I was at the other end of the scale - 6ft tall (inside leg 34")and size 18 (before pregnancy). Long Tall Sally had one black pair of trousers (and since I had ds 1 pair of jeans) - That was it !!!!! It is a good job i was pg in summer cos I lived in cropped trousers!!

MuffinMclay · 13/08/2007 16:19

Some of the Top Shop stuff looks OK. I'm not normally a Top Shop person (too old, too uncool!), but might give it a go. Thanks.

If you're into second hand (which I am in a big way) then the maternity exchange are really good. I am 5'1 and got lots of petite maternity trousers there last time.

Fingers crossed as this is first go with 'new improved easier MN links', although TBH I never had a problem with the old way.

Will be going back (or you can buy online too) as sadly all my maternity clothes are summery but no2 is due in Feb.

I'm short-ish and I managed to get a really nice pair of jeans from Mamas and Papas for about £30. They are a little bit long on me but they have button thingy so you can roll them up. I love them as they look like my prepregnancy jeans.

Anarchymummy · 14/08/2007 14:10

I'm a shorty too and am currently living in my maternity cargo pants from New Look.
There a bit long but not long enough to make you look stupid and they only cost £16.
I'll try and find a link to them online but bear with me as I'm somewhat of a newbie when it comes to online shopping.

I am 5' 2" and had a real nightmare finding trousers to fit. It was the only time I got depressed during my pregnancy as I spent 3 weekends trawling the shops trying to find trousers that fitted. I did find that Next were a good fit but the trousers with the stretchy bits at the side just fell down ALL the time no matter how big I got. Anyway, one place I did find some good trousers was Debenhams - they have a Red Herring section that does maternity wear and I got some great trousers from here with the elastic button hole adjuster at the side so they could grow with me. I too agree with you all about manufacturers forgetting about us. And as for M&S I think it is terrible that they only do a 8M & 8L - I get fed up of choosing between and 8M which is too big round the waist or a 10S which is too long - why should I always have to shorten trousers to fit, grrrrrr
