Hi ladies. I’m 38 weeks & Tomorrow I have an appointment & scan with a consultant as at my last growth scan 2 weeks ago my little boy was measuring slightly below the average. Estimated around 5 pound 4 when he should be between 5.6-6 pounds at the time. Smaller legs & tummy. They weren’t massively concerned as he’s still growing just along his own line & been that way since mentioned to me at 24 weeks.

My question is - if they are concerned about his growth & he hasn’t got much bigger in the last 2 weeks what happens next ? Can anyone shed any light from previous experience?

Thanks xxxx

Hi Baby, at most I would think they'd look to induce you / C Sec depending on your plans. Remember anything past 37 weeks is considered term so baby is only a few weeks off fully cooked so whilst he might be a little small he should be fine xx

I got induced at 37+4 due to SFGA and she was 5lb 3oz perfect. Induction was overall a good experience once they broke my waters at 3cm she was born 2 hours later.

Not sure what clothes you have but a lot of them supermarkets now do tiny prem clothes at least online, m and a and mothercare too.

Thry might keep you in for a few days to make sure she's feeding OK

Newborn is up to 10lb (I'm currnetly shopping for twins so obsessed over what weight each size is) so I'd suggest at least small baby which is 7.5lbs or tiny which is up to 5lb

I had a growth scan at 38 weeks and baby was measuring at 5lb 11oz they wernt happy with that and induced me the next day and she was born 5lb 10oz healthy.

I also had a growth scan at 31 wks where she was measured at 3lb 7 oz , they were happy with that.. but at midwife appoitnments my bump was always measuring small.
