I've been told these are useful and good to have especially post pregnancy. What do people mean by these - just big pants? What do mums recommend?

Primark do great ones and cheap do you can buy loads and chuck out if necessary. Top tip: buy big pants but not in a massive size as this can cause chafing if they move and move pads 😱

Yaflamingalah · 09/09/2019 09:02

I got mine from Asda for after DDs births

sunshineandshowers21 · 09/09/2019 09:02

i got mine from primark - £2 for a pack of 3 full briefs. they are so comfy!

KnobJockey · 09/09/2019 09:03

I don't recommend the Asda ones, I've worn mine once or twice and the waistbands coming away on every pair. I like the Matalan full briefs, or the ones from Tu at Sainsbury's were good for earlier in the pregnancy.

RushianDisney · 09/09/2019 09:06

I got two packs of M&S high waist full briefs for post partum and end of pregnancy. I still wear them now as they are so comfy (if a little loose), and DD is 3 Grin

I just got a pack of primark pants in 2 sizes bigger than my pre pregnancy size. They are cheap and come up slightly higher than what I normally wear so hopefully will do the job for the first few days

20viona · 09/09/2019 09:49

I didn't like the primark ones but the tesco ones are excellent. 9 weeks on I still wear them just for the pure comfort haha

AmIThough · 09/09/2019 09:49

I also got the Black primark full briefs. Problem is they're so comfy I'm still wearing them now - 4 months later.

I'm 23 years old and only wear granny pants. I don't know how DP still finds me attractive Grin

Hollywhiskey · 09/09/2019 09:54

I don't get this - I bought some for when my first baby was born in a size up but there was so much residual bump I couldn't pull them up and if I had they would have cut in.
I just wore normal low rise ones in a size bigger than normal.

BertieBotts · 09/09/2019 09:58

This sounds really random, but the absolute best ones I got were from the hospital shop and they were the most 1950s, floral, grannyish things I'd ever seen and they were AMAZING. Because the waistband was about an inch thick they were so comfy.

So ugly - but this kind of thing. I have also seen them for sale on market stalls. www.amazon.co.uk/Aloof%C2%AE-Ladies-Briefs-Comfort-Underwear/dp/B07PZ4DNN2/?tag=mumsnetforu03-21

I had some from Asda for my second pregnancy, just ordinary pants in a size bigger and they were OK but not as good as the proper retro ones.

whattodowith · 09/09/2019 10:21

Primark. They’re cheap enough to throw them away when they’re all blood soaked and gruesome.

scubaprincess · 09/09/2019 10:28

Oh how I loved my granny pants! I'be packed them away now but am tempted to bring them back out for winter as there's something warm, comfy and cozy about them! I got mine from M&S and think I went up a few sizes.

Angelinthenightx · 09/09/2019 10:45

Primark,i got the shorts style for after i give birth £3 soft & cheap.

KellyHall · 09/09/2019 11:50

I got Asda full briefs 3 sizes too big and wore them backwards so the 'bum' bit became the 'bump' bit! Still wear them post pardom :)

Woodlandwitch · 09/09/2019 11:52

I loved my TU ones and also picked up some from John Lewis but they were so high I could have covered my nipples with them

Celebelly · 09/09/2019 11:53

Careful with low rise ones - I had an emergency section and DP had to go out to buy new pants as the ones I'd taken were rubbing against the wound site. He got me big full briefs I could hoik up and over, from Asda I think they were.

GoldPaperStars · 09/09/2019 12:12

I’ve bought some M&S microfibre full briefs in a size bigger and they’re AMAZING. £12 for a 5 pack and they’re super soft. I’m only 24 weeks but I was getting so annoyed with my usual briefs rolling under my bump that I decided I needed big kickers. I may never go back...

Rubberyduck · 11/09/2019 08:42

I got some the week before I had Dc1 at sainsburys just in case I had a c section. Low and behold I had foresight and had an emcs! That was 2 years ago....I still wear them now. Poor DH. It's a wonder I am pregnant with number 2
