I'm 9+5 and starting to feel a bit more human now with just the odd nausea coming and going! So want to take the opportunity to start exercising more, what exercise is everybody doing during pregnancy? I've read swimming and walking seem to be very beneficial, just wondered if anybody was doing anything else!

I didnt really do a lot of exercise before pregnancy, the odd spin class here and there. My gym does a yoga class, will I be fine to go to that even though it's not a specific pregnancy class?

Hey, I feel your pain, I feel like a sloth now compared to before pregnancy when I was active. I need to start doing some stuff again.

I’m a yoga teacher so can give you some advice there- most teachers won’t teach you in the first trimester assuming they are aware of the pregnancy. After 12 weeks I’d be happy to have you in a class- there are some considerations though- no closed twisting, definitely don’t start inversions when you’re pregnant (if you already had them in your practice then it’s a careful maybe), you’ll need some adaptations for forward bending etc but a good teacher should be able to show you all of these. Avoid classes with the words dynamic or power in the title if you’re new to yoga sticking to Hatha or gentle vinyasa.

Talk to your yoga and spin teachers. It's generallt good to do the same sports you were doing before, but you can build them up and do more, or integrate walking and swimming in.

I do running and climbing, which is what I did before, and nothing new. I'm 17 weeks.
