Maternity Jeans Recommendations

Hi,

Currently 27 weeks and my boohoo maternity jeans are getting tight. Not the actual bump band but the part where the material meets the bump band. I'm normally a size 8, ordered a 10 which were huge in the beginning so wee bit reluctant to just try ordering a 12 in case I find them big on my legs etc. However, I would like at least one pair of jeans that I could wear a little further into my pregnancy.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you!

I'm 28 weeks and am finding over bump jeans aren't as good now as the bump is a bit big so I've moved to under bump.. red herring Debenhams ones are great and reasonably priced., I got the "jeggings" but they are basically skinny jeans

H&M.

I had a pair of Seraphine ones but they fell down (producing the attractive full nappy effect) and the waist band digs in when I sit down. Not good.

I have been wearing mothercare over the bump jeans since I was 12 weeks. I am now 31 and they still have plenty of room in the bump (I’m huge all ready but they have a really nice stretchy bump bit)

I tried some jo jo maman beebe jeans and they were awful! Just couldn’t get them to stay up.

LolaSmiles · 08/09/2019 16:53

I'm wearing H&M over bump skinnies. I'm normally an 8-10 but have gone for an 8 in their maternity section as I found the legs and bum are more generous than their normal jeans.

My matalan ones were bob on. Also wore them for a couple of months post birth too

Asos and Mamalicious are fab. Try looking in the Asos outlet

ChelseaCat · 08/09/2019 17:06

And H&M!

Thanks everyone! I’m off to have a look

Another vote for h&m, to be fair I've hardly worn mine as once I introduced maternity leggings to my life I couldnt live without them but h&m had so many styles including super skinny so found them ideal.

Starlight84 · 08/09/2019 21:39

I am still looking for jeans with at least a 34” leg! It seems impossible. So far ASOS only ones who do a small amount of tall maternity. X

LolaSmiles · 08/09/2019 21:55

starlight
Mothercare do a 30/32/34 leg. I found their sizes on the generous size so unless you're normally an 8 or smaller then you should be ok there

fonxey · 09/09/2019 05:29

Gah my h&m skinny jeans are not generous and really uncomfortable to wear. I did or shine more a side up but had them sent to wrong address.

Got some more then from Dorothy Perkins but as usual find too many folds of material. I guess this is better as gives room to grow but it's my usual bugbear with any jeans that always to much baggy material around the front. And they're not as soft.

So...h&m were more comfy but definitely on the small side! I'm usually a size 8 but h&m unlike other retailers are more on small side i find. Should have known.

Moonstone12 · 09/09/2019 08:18

@Starlight84 I got some tall jeans from new look and they are super comfy :) such a shame every retailer doesn't make maternity jeans for us tall girls. And I find the ones that do charge ridiculous prices :( I would also love some tall joggers and pj bottoms that accommodate my growing bump. Yes I can buy bigger sizes but then they just hang off my and give me a saggy bum lol.

I messaged boohoo as their tall section is fantastic but they don't do tall maternity and I do begrudge paying £50+ for jeans when you can get them for £20+ cheaper if you are a 'normal' height. ( I like to think my 36" legs are normal but I guess not 😂)

Starlight84 · 09/09/2019 08:39

@Moonstone12 yes I’m 5ft 9 and have a longer torso! My friend is same height but has 36” leg. I need 36” leg if I want to wear a heel. Luckily at the mo I’m not! I don’t like ordering online either! I prefer to try on! It’s a nightmare isn’t it x

My h&m ones keep falling down, can't imagine they are too big because the top of the jeans bit (under the bump band) is quite snug, they just don't cling properly. I've got a couple of pairs of maternity trousers, not jeans, from asos and those are much better. When not pregnant, I'm slightly apple shaped and quite a lot of my normal clothes are also from asos.

firstimemamma · 09/09/2019 08:51

My mother care under the bump jeans were nice.

JenniR29 · 09/09/2019 08:55

New look do some nice jeggings which are thick enough to wear as jeans. They do longer and shorter length too (I’m 5ft 10 so this was a must for me).

xTinkerbell · 19/09/2019 22:49

Tried H&M ordered a 10...couldn’t even get them up my legs so they’re getting returned this weekend! Onto the next recommendation and hopefully have better luck. Thank you!
