Hello all, I’m 23 and trying for a baby

I am unsure of what to think of my current symptoms.
For the past 2/3 months I have gone on and off of food , feeling nauseous when I eat sometimes leaving me unable to finish a meal. I’ve lost 12lb over this period without trying to loose weight.

Over the last week these symptoms have got a lot worse. My nausea is extreme I can barely eat a thing. I feel so hungry but I can only eat about 3/4 mouthfuls of something before I feel sick. I am fine drinking fluids. I feel extremely tired and my boobs have felt heavy/achey on and off. I was physically sick on Tuesday for the first time when travelling in a car ( I do not normally get travel sickness ).

Any ideas IF this could possibly be pregnancy or should I go to the docs to get checked for other things? I’m due on on Thursday. I had sex 4 days in the row in my fertile window. It’s my 3rd month of trying to get pregnant.

Any advise would be helpful??

If you've had negative tests (and I mean recently), it's unlikely you'd feel this unwell for this long if not pregnant. I'd take a test and then head to the gp. Losing that amount of weight (if your bmi is in the normal range) without effort over a short amazing unit of time while pregnant or not might be a sign of something odd...

You could be pregnant, but that wouldn’t explain the previous months and your symptoms then. I don’t want to sound like a misery, I hope you get your positive!

Did you come off any particular hormonal contraception just prior to starting TTC, did you start taking any particular supplements? I found that coming off my oestrogen-based contraception I had some issues with nausea, food and smell aversions (some quite strong), it was my body readjusting to the change in hormones. I also started taking Pregnacare which can make some people feel nauseous or sick, particularly due to the iron content. Apparently some other brands don’t contain as much (or any) iron and are easier to tolerate.

It might be worth speaking with your GP just to check everything is fine (especially given the weight loss) - whether you get a positive or not, in both circumstances in might be good just to be sure given these symptoms would pre-date pregnancy. It could also just be the anticipation - when you’re trying and hoping and waiting for a positive, you can end up feeling and experiencing all sorts.

@physicskate @beforeIhit30 thank you for your advise.
I haven’t done a recent pregnancy test the last one was 2 months so I shall take one. I had the cool removed in February and my cycles went back into rhythm pretty much straight away. Haven’t had any changes at all recently.

We shall see but sadly I don’t think this is due to pregnancy however I hope it is!!
