No major symptoms at six weeks - should I be worried?

I’m six weeks pregnant today. For the last week I’ve had some slight cramping (like mild period pain) and a very occasional wave of nausea, but nothing serious. I’ve also had some insomnia and just a general feeling like I’m a little bit hungover.

However, there’s been no vomiting and my boobs aren’t sore in the slightest. And for the last couple of days I’ve felt basically nothing at all - I wouldn’t know I was pregnant if it wasn’t for the positive test!

I think I’m going to book an eight-week scan to put my mind at rest - but obviously that’s not for another couple of weeks.

Should I be worried?

Just relax! You are literally just pregnant. My first baby I had no symptoms at all, second hardly any, but with my third I had a terrible first trimester! The slight cramping will be your uterus starting to stretch.

Hi OP I am 8 weeks. The symptoms only hit me in the last two weeks. I don't think it means much as we are all different. I havent vomited once but nausea has been gradually worsening. Congratulations on your pregnancy.

Hey
I didn't have any symptoms at all apart from being a bit tired. It's easy to say don't worry but for some it's perfectly normal. I was lucky in a way, I didn't have any sickness or sore boobs, it is a blessing eventually but not at the beginning when you worry!x

@tacosplease my symptoms didn't hit till I was 8 weeks and oh boy did the hit me hard. Nausea and horrible sickness until I was 12 weeks. Try to relax and enjoy incase you get terrible sickness in the weeks to come.

I'm in a slightly similar situation - apart from a couple of days where I had some waves of nausea (but only lasting a couple of hours each) I've generally felt ok, just tired. My boobs are painful, though, so not quite the same. It has been worrying me too, but I think it's important to remember that everyone's bodies react very differently to the hormones, as well as perhaps to the environment they're in. I work in an office job where I'm fairly sedentary and am lucky enough to be able to take it easy when needs be. If you're in a situation where you're on your feet all day, constantly dealing with customers and meetings etc., you might feel a lot worse by the end of the day than if you've been able to take things a little more slowly.

I have a scan next week so I can update then on how things are going, and that niggling worry will probably be there until I've had the 12 week one, but I'm 6+4 right now and am surprised at how 'ok' I've been feeling for the past couple of days. Maybe it's all still to come!

I didn't really get any symptoms until around 9 weeks and I had twins.

tacosplease · 07/09/2019 08:43

Thanks. I woke up in the night desperate for the loo and with that mild hangover feeling again, as well as some pulling sensations in my stomach. I’m taking all those as positive signs!

I am 18 weeks pregnant and except from the odd wave of nausea which is usually before I have had anything to eat in the morning, I have pretty much had no symptoms at all. Suppose everyone pregnancies are different to others, consider yourself lucky 😊

Hi tacosplease.im worried about few symptoms also.im 5 weeks 5 days.I had a tiny bit of pink stain on my toilet paper yesterday and a few cramps and terrible awful nausea like I was on a boat.I had really sore boobs like where I wanted to take my bra off in the middle of the day.today there has been no spotting or cramps which is good.however I have no nausea and my boobs feel fine today.im worried now.i suppose I just wait it out then?i either have a bleed or not.this is my second pregnancy but I am 40 soon.

whattodowith · 08/09/2019 15:23

I had no real symptoms at all with my DD’s, wouldn’t even have known I was pregnant without the missed period.

Completely opposite with my DS’s had every symptom going from week 5 Grin.

Lunaxoxo · 10/09/2019 21:16

I had hardly anything, kept reading online that if your really sick and have loads of symptoms it’s a good sign so I was worried it was a bad sign.
All crap.. everyone’s different!
Enjoy it.. I’m 35 weeks and still having a easy ride apart from heartburn and last couple of weeks hips are aching in the night but that’s all the weight and pelvis getting ready for birth ..

sredwards · 15/09/2019 19:14

@tacosplease how are you getting on?

tacosplease · 15/09/2019 19:29

@sredwards thanks for asking! I’m now seven weeks in and still no sore boobs or throwing up.

I have suddenly developed a random aversion to coffee though, which I drank gallons of before - and red meat as well. Both make me feel nauseous at the thought. I’ve also been quite tired this past week. I’m taking both to be a positive sign!

@tacosplease cool! Have you got an early scan booked? I'm sure you'll be fine xx

tacosplease · 18/09/2019 06:24

@sredwards yes, I have an eight week scan booked at the end of this week. Really hoping all goes well...
