Flutters have stopped

I'm 19 weeks and have felt definite flutters for the past few weeks. They've now stopped and I haven't felt the baby at all in about a week. I know early movements can be hard to detect and won't have an obvious pattern at first, but should I be worried?

It could just be the position of the baby but absolutely ring your midwife this morning and ask to be checked. Hope you get on ok.

Ring your midwife.

Do you have an early pregnancy assessment unit near you?

Look in your pregnancy notes or book for the right number to ring.

I experienced this and had the midwife check me after a couple of days and the baby had just moved into a position where I couldn't feel it. I also have an anterior placenta.

My midwife wasn't that concerned and advised it can take until 3rd trimester to feel a regular pattern but she was happy to have a look at bump and all was fine. Baby moved again a couple of days later and hasn't stopped wriggling since although some days are quieter than others! I am now 28 weeks.

I have a friend who is currently 19 weeks and hasn't felt anything yet but her baby is fine.

Have you had your 20 week ultrasound?

I would definitely get checked over for piece of mind, any time you are concerned about movement.

This happened to me - baby must have just moved position, but deffo call midwife if you're concerned. They came back with a vengeance at 21 weeks.

My daughter had the same issue recently and has an anterior placenta. She called up the local midwifery unit and they checked and all was fine . Get checked for peace of mind.
