Babybond early scan

Hi all!

I've got an early scan booked for Saturday and on the email they've sent me it says to come in with a full bladder. I know for a fact it will be an internal scan due to being so early in the pregnancy is there even a point in loading up on water?
Did anyone have an early scan done and actually have them do an abdominal scan?

I'm 7 weeks on Sunday so will be 6w6d at the scan.

Sometimes they can scan via abdo at tht gestation, unless your not quite that far or have a fair bit of abdo fat etc then maybe they won't be able to see but they will always try scam via abdo first x

If you’re 7 weeks they will just do an internal so they will need you to go for a wee right before the scan. I had 3 internal scans with my DD

When I went at a very similar gestation they did try abdominally first before doing an internal. I would go with a full bladder so they can at least attempt it, if not it only takes a couple of minutes to go for a wee

I've had early scans at Babybond with both DC's at the same stage as you and it's always been abdominal, I'm a size 18 and they never had trouble locating anything.

My local Babybond doesn't actually offer internal scans, the only place I've had an internal scan was at the EPU.

I had a scan at 7+1 and to my surprise they were able to see everything with just an abdominal scan.

I went at 8 weeks and they tried abdominal first, but had to switch to internal due to the angle of my uterus. Just letting you know that my branch did do the internal!

I went last month and yep was abdominal☺️

I had a scan at around 7 weeks. They did an abdominal thinking they’d have to switch to internal but could see it fine. I’ve got a good layer of fat too but it didn’t affect it at all. I’m not sure the private places do internals. Worth checking.
Just go with a full bladder you can always empty it easily.

I had a private abdominal scan at 8 weeks, they could see everything fine.

So went in today at 6+6 and to my surprise she said she didn't even need to do an internal scan. The abdominal scan showed everything that can be seen at this time. All looks good :) x
