Can't eat much in the evenings

Has anyone else noticed a change in their eating habits as they get further along. I find now that eating a normal sized meal at dinner time is a struggle but in the mornings I am ravenous and breakfast ends up being bigger than normal. I don't know if it has something to do with my PGP which means I'm up earlier as laying down is unbearable by 5 am so the mornings tend to be longer.

But tonight for example I just found eating hard work. I wasn't feeling stuffed, it is more of a case of I feel hot and all the space inside is used up and no more can enter my body. I then feel a bit agitated as I want to eat my dinner but know I'll regret it. Maybe I'm just eating too much in the day.

Just wondered if anyone else has experienced a slow down in the evenings.

I get this from the beginning. Am only 9 weeks at the moment.
I eat quite a lot: breakfast, snack, snack, lunch, snack, but then evening meal I can only eat about half of it. Probably getting around the same calories as before just spread out differently.

Probably better for sleep to eat more earlier on so its not sitting in your stomach when you go to bed.

How far along are you?

Totally have this

I find I’m getting strong aversions to stuff as well. Right now, I couldn’t think of anything worse than eating some chocolate for example

I’ve also gone right off anything wrapped in cling film, I swear I can smell it on the food. Likewise anything that has been in my ancient longchamp bag which seems to have picked up the smell

I'm 27 weeks. @chikitiki I had this in the first trimester when I had morning sickness. But this feels slightly different. It's like all the space inside is taken up. I probably am having the same calories too early on in the day. Even drinking a cup of tea is hard work because there just isn't space.

@shirelypahllus I can understand the cling film issue. I had a huge problem with how the freezer smelt. I hated the freezer sooo much. We're friends again now! Grin

When my DD was born it was amazing- suddenly I could drink a whole pint of water again, and eat meals as big as my husband's!! I did over do it a few times early on out of excitement. I love eating usually :)

I must say there are certain things I miss so much which I am looking forward to doing/eating. I am, obviously, delighted to be pregnant but not worrying about food, or if I'm doing anything wrong and sleeping on my front/back again will be lovely.

I'm similar - feel very normal in the mornings and can eat away, come evening I feel massive and stuffed and can't breathe! Just running out of space I think.

My eating habits stayed the same until 32 weeks, I'm 35 weeks now and my belly is SO tight and heavy and I can barely eat a thing and I actually find I'm less hungry but try to eat little and often
