Can’t figure out how blood pressure works?

Ok so here is what my readings have been this PG-
13 weeks- 130/68
17 weeks- 128/70
20 weeks- 118/75
25 1/2 weeks- 135/75

I’ve just had the last figure taken today and it’s worrying me. I’m such an anxious person and wracking my brains to think of anything I’ve done over the last few weeks to make it as it is? Wish I could forget about it but keep worrying x

That's a totally normal range.

Your bp normally varies quite a bit during the day anyway, OP, and these readings are just single snapshots from clinic visits, when it’s often a little raised from anxiety.
None of your readings are high enough to be concerning, and your midwife would have told you if they were, and referred you for treatment.
Relax, and stop fretting!

Thank you for your re assurances! I just worry how much effect my anxiety has on things so that just freaked me out today. I was nervous before my apt as I always am so that’s probably had an effect x

It’s well within normal range.
Everyone’s blood pressure goes up and down throughout the day. Nobody's is always the same, because it’s a measure of how your body is behaving, and your body is a living dynamic thing.

I’m sorry you’re anxious. Have you talked to your midwife about anxiety? Flowers

Congratulations btw

@Ohyesiam- Thank you so much. I know the bottom figure is absolutely fine it’s just the top one makes me think 😩😩😩. But like I say I was anxious as I always am for any appt lol.
Yes I have spoken about my anxiety but I’m just getting on with it. I’m going to work, eating well and sleeping well (at the moment 😂) so just dealing with it as and when. I’m a natural worrier so it’s hard to snap out of that mindset xx

Honestly the top figure is fine too.

My bp went sky high at the end of my pregnancy and they all started twitching, but I still had a normal delivery at a midwife led birth unit.

I was told that blood pressure goes down around 16 weeks and then goes up again so by later in pregnancy it should be roughly the same as 12 weeks so those readings seem entirely normal to me.

NewMama2Be · 05/09/2019 19:42

That looks really normal to me. I'm towards the end of my pregnancy and for the last couple of weeks mine have been all over the place, from 125/74 to 144/106 - safe to say when its higher I've been sent to maternity assessment to be checked over and all ok so far 🤞 your midwife would let you know if there was any cause for concern

Thank you all!!! It just tips my anxiety over a bit more when i think of it being higher. Roll on December for my c section 😬 xx
