Hello everyone, I am so nervous I have my 12 week scan tomorrow morning and I'm absolutely petrified they will say something is wrong. I had a bit of a rocky start with the pregnancy having pains and then a early scan where they couldn't see anything, they then eventually found the baby a few week later dating me 6 weeks 4 days heartbeat was seen too. However now approaching my 12 week scan I'm so scared again after a rocky start. I have two other amazing children and I felt like this even when pregnant with them I can't seem to relax today with fear of tomorrow. Am I crazy?

Nope, its a nervous time.

I found out I was pregnant on Monday, and haven't stopped worrying since. I won't be able to relax until I see my little bean on screen.

its totally normal to worry, just try and calm down as stressing wont be good for baby.

Laurenp1995 · 05/09/2019 11:11

Thank you so glad it's not just me my partner just tells me to relax and all will be fine but it's easier said then done I will deffo try to thank you l

Completely normal to worry ❤️ We all worry for different reasons ! I have been during this pregnancy because I had a Mc last year. I remember bricking the 12 week scan but relaxed when in the waiting room along with lots of other women who were sat waiting. I kept thinking I have a good chance at this like they do! Good luck 😘 try to remember everything happens for a reason xxx

I’ve got my 12 week scan tomorrow too Smile I’ve been suffering with HG and the thought of anything being wrong after weeks of HELL fills my with horror.. sending you a virtual hand hold! Fingers crossed all will be well for us both!

Megan2018 · 05/09/2019 17:57

It would be weird not to be anxious- I was teary at all of mine and I have had 8 scans for this baby. Every other person in the waiting room will be feeling similar.
Good luck!

Sezzie87 · 05/09/2019 18:08

Hiya, I also have my 12 week scan tomorrow and have had similar worries. There are stories everywhere of things going wrong, especially when you're hyper aware of possible issues. But just think of all the millions of pregnancies that are absolutely fine allllll the time, it's far more likely all will be well! And this time tomorrow you'll know as well so not long to wait now. I had a miscarriage at 6 weeks earlier this year so have been particularly nervous, so I get your anxiety!!

Sparkle0109 · 05/09/2019 18:38

At every "milestone" of pregnancy I had I was convinced there would be something wrong, from early pregnancy to delivery.I ruined my pregnancy experience looking back but I couldnt help it.Ds is 5 now and I wish I could have been more calm but that's just the way I dealt with it all

KittenMittens1 · 06/09/2019 09:08

Hello everyone just back from my scan and all was absolutely fine we have a very active baby I'm actually 12 weeks and 2 days not the 11 weeks and 6 days like I thought. Due on the 18th of March 2020. Hope everyone else being scanned today went okay Smile it's so hard to relax before you go in I was like it with all my scans but as soon as you see the baby appear you fears melt away and you enjoy it xx

@Laurenp1995 so happy for you ! I think what a lot of people tend to forget is that most pregnancies go well and most babies are born healthy one way or another.

I think if you spend a lot of time on these forums, it seems as if bad things happen most of the time- when actually, bad things happen less often than good things.

Good luck to everyone for the rest of their pregnancies.

Ibizababyy · 06/09/2019 15:25

OP posts:
Ibizababyy · 06/09/2019 15:39

@Laurenp1995 lousy!! I’m on meds for nausea which had started to ease up a couple weeks back but then a week ago I had a very traumatic wisdom tooth extraction and subsequent infection. Been climbing the walls in agony and barely sleeping so it’s really knocked me for six sickness wise again! Off work until next Thursday so hopefully I’ll be feeling better by then! How are you?

Bol87 · 06/09/2019 16:51

Due date buddy here too! 18th March! Grin

Scan was fine, baby very active! Had a lovely scan lady & a trainee so we had a really detailed scan while she was explaining everything and looking from every angle imaginable.. my 12 week scan with my daughter, I had a super grumpy sonographer who didn’t explain anything! So I was pleasantly surprised!

So glad to hear scans have gone well!

Jojowash · 06/09/2019 16:58

@Laurenp1995
