Thromobosed hemorrhoids at 31 weeks?!

Hello everyone..

I'm in absolute agony have a huge thrombosd Grade 3 haemorrhoid which is about the size of a large grape for the past 3 days - literally popped out of nowhere. I saw a GP who said they can't do anything to 'cure it' - such as surgery or give proper painkillers obviously because of being pregnant.

They have given me creams, pessaries (which are too painful to insert!) and panadol. Told me to do salt baths etc and lay down as much as possible...

I am not sleeping well and in a lot of pain and it has started bleeding today but is still rock solid and painful. The Doctor also told me to try pushing it back in which is near impossible!

I wanted to ask if anyone had experienced this and what happens? Will I just have to 'deal with this' until birth?! I've been doing a lot of reading and it seems these happen after birth too... I just don't know how I will be able to withstand the pain of 'pushing' a child out when I have this pain...

Really appreciate any experiences or advice, thanks in advance ladies :) much appreciated!

Hello, I had exactly this with my 3 DC and it was utterly miserable for a few days. It did improve massively and was fine during the birth and I had nothing like it after giving birth either. I did still have piles but they were just a bit annoying rather than painful and not as hard.

I really hope yours begins to improve soon.

Thank you ShivD that is reassuring! How did you manage to get it to improve? :-/

Same as you, plenty of lying down when I could, cream and paracetamol. Also the preparation H wet wipes are great for wiping after going to the toilet.
