Hi all, so im wondering if anyone else has experienced this....... over the weekend i was generally just feeling crappy with diarria on and off and nausea. on monday i started getting a ache in my back on right flank side, within 2 hours this was crippling pain and i felt truly awful all over, this resulted in a trip to maternity a&e. They checked baby (not via scan) and said they were happy with that. I was in agony and explained that i suffered from perferated diverticulitus this feb. I was there for a few hours and doc came around and said it was a pulled muscle. I questioned how a pulled muscle could be that sore, unbelievale pain and also asked about nausea and diarria. Urine also showed infection. She said urine could be raised cuz of diarria and possible viral infection and just a muscle. Told me to rest for a few days with paracetamol. Went home and eventually got to sleep through the pain, paracetamol did help a bit. Wasnt too bad yesterday then last night the unbelievable pain was back alongside diarria and nausea and feeling faint. I guess my query is can a pulled muscle in back ribs really be this bad ?? Thanks in advance for any advice, i know this was a bit of a essay 🙄

Omg no I’d go back - get a second opinion.

second that, I would go back for another opinion.

No way is that a pulled muscle! Could it be a kidney infection, is it in the kidney region of your back? (Just below your ribcage in the middle on that side) I had a kidney infection last year and it was one of the most painful things ever. Classic symptoms are diarrhea, nausea and backpain so that's what it sounds like to me! I would go to a&e if I was you and demand they check you for a kidney infection. Good luck.

I was also going to say kidney infection, I had it in my last pregnancy and it was so painful. Followed with sickness and fever. Definitely get another opinion.

Hi all, thank you so much for your replys ! I went to my own gp yesterday and she agrees it may be kidney infection. Felt crappy yesterday but after a lot of rest and paracetamol feel abit better today. She took bloods and urine and sent to lab so will know once results are back later today. Thanks again, really appreciate it 😘
