6months pregnant and I ate goats cheese - freaking out

I went to pizza express last night and had a pizza with goats cheese on, I didnt realise you weren't supposed to eat it whilst pregnant. I'm 6months and have been worrying all night that I've put the baby in danger of listeria. Can the baby get it if I don't? Has anyone else made this mistake? Can't help worrying 🙈

It’s cooked so it’s fine.

Whitecandle · 04/09/2019 07:38

I ate cheeses I wasn't supposed to all the way through my pregnancy because I had noooo idea!!

My baby is fine - he's 7 months now 😀

PotteringAlong · 04/09/2019 07:40

Cooked cheese isn’t an issue. Also, it’s not as if pizza express are having customers dropping like flies from listeria on a daily basis so the chances of a problem are minuscule. Are you driving a car today? That’s far more dangerous, statistically speaking.

Spam88 · 04/09/2019 07:41

Is goats cheese not allowed? 🤔

Anyway, cheeses that are supposed to be avoided are fine when cooked.

tisonlymeagain · 04/09/2019 07:41

Cooked goats cheese is fine OP and even then, the risk is small.

Moominfan · 04/09/2019 07:41

The chances of listeria are minor

olderthanilookapparently · 04/09/2019 07:44

It will be pasteurised in Pizza Express absolutely fine

ColaFreezePop · 04/09/2019 07:47

No you have to be Ill as well. You are unlikely to be ill from a well-known chain as they are scared of damaging their reputation.

I ate a few things I shouldn't have when pregnant and wasn't ill. My 1 year old is fine.

Are you generally anxious? If so you need to get it treated before you have your child as otherwise it will impact your mental health plus their development as you will stop them doing normal things due to your facial expressions and body language if not words. Both my partner and I had mothers like this and it had a large impact on our lives. I eventually learnt to ignore my mother and check with other adults if something was reasonable to do, while my partner didn't. Either way it caused a lot of conflict in our relationships.

Thanks for all your responses! Genuinely wasn't a worrier before I got pregnant 🤔 think I want this baby so much I'm paranoid of something bad happening

I'm pregnant and have had the same pizza twice. And a goats cheese panini, prob the panini is the only potential issue as not exactly cooked just melted! Oh well I have avoided Brie though Wink

GrannySquares · 04/09/2019 08:44

You'll be fine!

What a shitty unnecessary thing to say

@nosalad Agreed, talk about projecting your own issues onto other people
