Hi
I have to choose between whipps cross or queen. Can anyone help me to make decisions?

I was at Whipps Cross 5 years ago and I have to say I wish I had that choice again. At the time it had really bad reviews and I was very sceptical but I cannot fault the staff and the care I had, it was second to none. I really rate them.

I can't say about queens but I switched from Whipps Cross to Homerton at about week 16 (I'm now week 29) and I'm so glad I did. Whipps was chaotic, not telling me about appointments, seemed really short staffed in the midwifery team I was assigned to and just not very together. Homerton is so much better, the staff are helpful, I have an assigned midwife and they've been so much more professional.

That said I've spoken to others in my area who seem to rate Whipps so this is just my personal experience, it might be just down to luck to be honest!

I was at whipps cross with my first pregnancy and still sticking to it with now my second one. Can't comment about queens but with all stories i have heard i would prefer to stay at whipps cross also because overall i was very satisfied with the care i got at whipps

Thanks all for your reply

I was at queens for my first one and I really like it. I live in Woodford and queen are not accepting any patient who are not in their catchment area
Is it so we can't choose where we want ?

I'm 35 weeks and at Whipps. Didn't have DC1 there, I chose North Middlesex but for various reasons stuck with Whipps this time.

I've found the care to be great. Short waiting times at appointments, scans always running on time and have seen the same midwife a few times.

I was nervous about Whipps but I've been pleasantly surprised. Obviously the real proof is in the pudding in a few weeks time, but I've had a tour of the birth centre and the midwives seemed really friendly and calm.
