If your BMI was over 30 or if they have any concerns you'll get another scan otherwise no.

ncqtime · 03/09/2019 16:58

Not as standard, no

Thank you ladies.
If the baby is measuring small I'm guessing there'll send me for one then? X

It's not standard no. Do you think it will measure small?

cxxxx · 03/09/2019 17:15

@mistermagpie my last pregnancy she weighed 8.3lb so I don't think so but just over thinking it☺️ x

We have a 36 week sca nhere but don't think it's universal yet. My midwife said i would get a growth scan if my bump falls 3 or more weeks behind where expected

katmarie · 03/09/2019 17:17

My midwife told me I'd get additional growth scans if my bump measured off the growth chart for more than 2 measurements but otherwise additional scans are unlikely.

mistermagpie · 03/09/2019 17:17

You can ask for another scan if you're worried, they might say no but I was given one in my first pregnancy because of severe anxiety.

In my second pregnancy I was measuring small so had an extra one.

This time I am going to pay privately for one at about 35 weeks, just for reassurance.

Thank you ladies!
Have you found out what your having or are you leaving it for a surprise🥰

They'll scan you at a later date, too, if you go in more than once after 26 weeks for reduced fetal movements. Also means you might not get to go into the water if you want that for pain relief or a water birth.
They'll also growth scan if you've tracked along one measurement line then drop to another centile.
Also a scan if you've bled more than spotting.

mistermagpie · 03/09/2019 20:04

None of that is true where I live. I was in for reduced movement about five times last time and never got a scan for it, I also bled throughout and wasn't scanned. I did get a scan for measuring small but only because I pushed for it.

It must vary depending on the hospital.

My area get a scan at 36 weeks now. I was pregnant last year and didn't get it, so this has come in on the last year.

cxxxx · 03/09/2019 21:26

@Cuppa12345 what hospital are you with if you don't mind me asking
