Hi all. So I'm due my first in May of next year. I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday. My husband is great but I have no friends at this stage they either have grown up kids or arent planning to any time soon
I have two sisters. One with grown up kids who she doesn't see and one who's getting married soon so is in her own little bubble.

I would just like someone to talk about all of this as I'm really anxious about the next 9 months.

Thanks for reading :)

@Bumpingalong84 I'm so so please for you as I know we were in the same boat last week and I've been waiting to hear from you all day. What a relief. I so hope I'm as lucky on friday xx

ChampooPapi · 01/10/2019 18:47

@Mystie oh I'll definitely weep if I watch that, I watched Mama Mia 2 last week and I was crying like a baby by the end Grin

Mystie · 01/10/2019 18:48

@november90 another amazing scan result! So happy for you, wow what a great day on here for good news! Congratulations ❣️

sazzlerazzle · 01/10/2019 18:48

@zoemelb that’s amazing news, congrats 😊

Has anyone here used the ultrasound service available st some Mothercare stores? I’m finding it so difficult waiting for the 12 week scan letter to come through (I’m currently 9 weeks). It’s my first pregnancy and the waiting’s no not knowing if things are ok is unbearable! I keep doubting if I’m still pregnant, especially as I don’t have many morning sickness symptoms, they come and go.

Was considering booking with them as there’s a branch near me...

ChampooPapi · 01/10/2019 18:49

@Bumpingalong84 arhh, great news
Congratulations too @jeffsar4 as well. May mother's you will be 🎂

sazzlerazzle · 01/10/2019 18:50

@november90 aaah what a great pic!! ❤️ That must have been an amazing moment. I know what you mean, I feel so weird telling my dad too. He’s going to know I’ve had sex! 😂

ChampooPapi · 01/10/2019 18:51

@zoemelb you must be so happy and relieved, let's compare notes tomorrow, my booking in is at 2pm, think I'll be about 9 and a half weeks

@november90 congrats - we have the same date.
@Bumpingalong84 - great news.
So happy for everyone, must be a very lucky date for scanning. :-)
Hope everyone has the scan or waiting for news this week will be good news as well. @Wishful30 @Mystie

zoemelb · 02/10/2019 03:19

@sazzlerazzle I don't have much sickness and vomit/nausea as well, but extremely tiredness in the afternoon or after eating, heartburn but getting less recently - I feel like I need a nap at least one a day. Consider myself lucky and don't want to say it out loud.
@cornishTJ : I'm having soup & cooked red/white meat & rice the last couple days, and it helps a lot with my heartburn, feel less sick in the morning as well, since as soon as I wake up I have soup and rice.
I'm cooking a big batch of soup with carrots, pumpkins, broccoli, green beans, potatoes, beetroots, a bit of ginger and chickens (most of the stuff already sold pre-cut so just chuck in the pot for 1hour).

facevalue · 02/10/2019 06:15

@november90 beautiful and congratulations xxx

@GinUnicorn yep that's me. spoke to my GP and she was saying eat little and often and suggested fresh ginger was good for sickness so my friend made indian tea with fresh ginger which was amazing and for 2 hours i was able to eat and the nausea was much better . food still tastes funny.
any one getting sudden waves of intense hunger?!

i felt ok eating fatty food ( chinese, nando's , kfc) which normally i would avoid as i prefer salads fruit and steak ! i don't my hubby this baby loves junk fatty food.

still suffering with " hot boobs" 😥 and the libido is sky high ( TMI sorry )

facevalue · 02/10/2019 06:20

@zoemelb i'm so impressed you are able to cook. i really can't cope with the smells of meat chicken or fish. even prawns which i LOVE normally😑😑

@cornishTJ i get waves of reflux / heartburn so i drink milk for that. crunchy nuts if need more sugar x

facevalue · 02/10/2019 06:22

@ChampooPapi good luck with your scan today xxx fingers crossed

Helensss · 02/10/2019 06:22

@facevalue I get sudden hunger pangs yep! I’m already in the kitchen wondering what I can eat 😂

I went to McDonald’s yesterday which I haven’t had for over a year and loved every second. I hope I start wanting healthy foods again soon or I’ll have a lot more baby weight to shift! X

facevalue · 02/10/2019 06:39

@helensss hahaha exactly where i'm standing! pita bread and phili cheese ? for some reason i want to add chilli sauce

Shelbustotherescue · 02/10/2019 07:36

Congratulations to all the positive scans - really good to read that everything is okay Smile

I have my next scan tomorrow, terrified if I'm honest, anxiety isn't great

I've had my appt through from the perinatal mental health team for a couple of weeks time so that's a good start.

Symptoms are easing slightly which is nice but is fueling my anxiety

danielasummer · 02/10/2019 07:39

Hi everyone, looking for a little advice please - I have an early scan at 11.30am today and have been told to have a full bladder..how much would I have to drink? It doesn’t specify on the letter.

november90 · 02/10/2019 07:48

@danielasummer I drank about a litre yesterday for my scan but I drank it too close to my scan time so it wasn't overly clear! Drink enough for you to need a wee but do it so you stop drinking about an hour before!
Enjoy your scan 💗
