Hi all. So I'm due my first in May of next year. I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday. My husband is great but I have no friends at this stage they either have grown up kids or arent planning to any time soon
I have two sisters. One with grown up kids who she doesn't see and one who's getting married soon so is in her own little bubble.

I would just like someone to talk about all of this as I'm really anxious about the next 9 months.

Thanks for reading :)

@Wishful30 it wasn’t nice but I’m currently 8 wk 2 days and cautiously optimistic (and completely terrified too 😂)
Sorry for your experience too! Eeek when are you going to tell him? Might be good for you to have the support?

Wishful30 · 29/09/2019 19:11

@Helensss I'm going to hold out till Saturday night when I'll be 6w exactly.
I've not quite decided how to tell him yet. Last time I made a little box up with booties and a bonnet and a dad book... But I don't wana jinx it. 🙄

He's gonna cry tears of happiness either way lol

Helensss · 29/09/2019 19:26

@Wishful30 ah that’s such a nice idea! Xx

@jeffsar4 that's a great idea!

Bumpingalong84 · 29/09/2019 19:48

Thank you @Sunshine8888 it was difficult and when I had such a straight forward pregnancy with DD I was so naive as to how difficult this journey can be for people.

Like I said it a previous post it’s soooooo I rare and unlikely to happen to anyone after seeing a heartbeat at 8 week scan. My story is a little different as it turned out to have started as a twin pregnancy and the first one died when I had a bleed at 6 weeks (they think) then the second one sometime after my 8wk scan. It was high risk but we didn’t find out it was twins till 12weeks when she scanned and was very thorough and found the tiny second one. So the chances of that happening to anyone is like 1 in a million (made that up 😂) but I’m guessing sooo rare. So I’m praying if we see a heartbeat on Tuesday we will be all good! I’ll be 7+1 and keep thinking what are the chances of me having two mmc at 35 when I’ve had one normal pregnancy previously. Wishful thinking 🙈

As for the symptoms, I’ve had a few friends that had none other than their growing belly’s. I have a friend who had worse morning sickness with her boy that her girl. But over all is does seem like girl pregnancies cause more nausea, and science does suggest that.

We have a DD, I don’t really care what we have next. Tho I know my girl would say a sister 😂

mrsf1204 · 29/09/2019 19:53

@november90 that's what I'm putting it down to too. All I've been eating is beige food but I've had a roast today and deliberately ate all my veg first before I was full as I know I need it. I wouldn't say I have massive cravings or aversions at the moment, I just seem to be naturally leaning towards beige foods rather than a greens and fruits etc which is so unlike me. I love my healthy food but it's just not what I fancy at the moment. I want a lot of pastas, ready salted crisps, beans etc. Very weird. I think my 💩 is instead of my sickness too as I have only had a few moments where I have felt queasy - until this morning where i threw up for the first time!!!

Hollyjeanh · 29/09/2019 20:02

Hi! I’m currently 6+2. Had a scare last Monday with lots of red blood so had an early scan where they saw the gestational sac and yolk which is good news but I have been spotting pink/red watery blood ever since. I have also had twinges/cramps. I’m due another scan this coming Friday so hoping for a heartbeat! Anyone else had any issues?

Bumpingalong84 · 29/09/2019 20:16

Hi @Hollyjeanh congratulations.
I’m 6+6 and had a scare last Sunday and had bleeding, had a scan on Tuesday and they saw a sac and 4mm embryo but no heartbeat yet, I was 6+1 but by my dates about 5+4 I think. So have a scan this Tuesday and hoping to have a heartbeat then. It’s such an anxiety filled time just waiting. I’ve only had brown spotting since on and off so hoping all is ok 🤷🏻‍♀️

sazzlerazzle · 29/09/2019 21:54

@Wishful30 you haven’t told him?? I don’t know how you’re able to go through all this without saying anything! Shock

Sunshine8888 · 29/09/2019 22:37

Well weeks 8-9 have definitely been the worst yet. I’m thankful I’m not actually being sick but I am really starting to struggle in the evenings 🤢 I think I’m going to buy a maternity bra to wear at night because my boobs are horribly sore, back pain is ramping up and the tiredness - well that alone is making me feel sick where my head feels so thick. Dreading work this week!

Hollyjeanh · 29/09/2019 23:33

Oh good luck with the scan do let us know! I’m trying to be optimistic but it’s hard isn’t it! Anxiety levels through the roof. Also struggling as I’ve been taken off my antidepressant!! Not ideal. Fingers crossed for a positive scan!

facevalue · 30/09/2019 07:39

@Hollyjeanh oh no .. why would they stop your antidepressants! i know that it's important that you stay mentally well! did they suggest an alternative ? maybe speak with your GP again. goodluck

Hollyjeanh · 30/09/2019 07:43

I have no idea I was just told I couldn’t take them. I will go back and see what they can do. Through the night and this morning my bleeding has stopped which is amazing seeing as I’ve had it for a week!! Could not sleep lastnight though with night sweats and feeling nauseous. Anyone else suffering with waking up wet through and cold?

Wishful30 · 30/09/2019 07:57

I've been up all night. No reason really. My tummy woke me up once and had to run to the loo 💩 I suffer with IBD but 🤞🏻it's been settled for a while now.
I've not slept and feel rubbish. So I just phoned in sick to work lol.
I guess at least if the doc wants me to go for more tests I've got time now 🙄😂

Wishful30 · 30/09/2019 07:58

@Hollyjeanh glad to hear your bleeding has stopped 👍🏻
Could your sweats be medication withdrawal?
Deffo speak with your gp. There must be an alternative to your current medication. X

Sunshine8888 · 30/09/2019 08:14

It’s been a struggle but I’ve managed to not take any time off work yet, I’ve got 15 more working days to go until I hit the 12 week mark. I will be so happy if I make it through with sick days! I’ve just had to order some new work clothes a size up, things are getting a little tight. Good luck to those having scans today x

SecondBaby2020 · 30/09/2019 08:25

I’m 7+3 due 15th May. Ive had 2 miscarriages so I’m completely on edge! Every pain is the end of the world, I go to toilet 300 times a day to check I’m not bleeding, my poor partner doesn’t know what to say or do to make things easier. I have a scan this evening at a private clinic to see if everything is ok and hopefully ease my anxiety a bit. I already feel a bit better having read through all your posts, I know what I’m feeling is normal

cornishTJ · 30/09/2019 08:41

Off work today, doing some admin from home. We're such a small team that I really do not want to be sick with every one close by second guessing what's up with me! Not worth it. If it's anything like last week then the worst should subside by the end of the day. Goes in waves of three bad sick days then back to just nausea.

@Wishful30 my boyfriend knew as soon as I peed on the stick! No fancy 'you're going to be a dad' ideas with that one!! Just 'oh shit look! It's positive.' Lol

Have a good day everyone. Good luck to those getting scans and rest up to those like me in bed!

Wishful30 · 30/09/2019 08:42

@SecondBaby2020 me too! Constantly in the loo checking 🤦🏻‍♀️ I'm only 5+2 tho lol

Off to the doc in a bit to let them know and discuss the discharge. But poas helped this morning. Not even filled the window and it's strong positive still 🤞🏻

Due May 2020 - could do with a buddy!
Wishful30 · 30/09/2019 08:43

@cornishTJ that's so funny 😂 xx

Helensss · 30/09/2019 09:15

@SecondBaby2020 I hear you! I had 3 this year and now 8 wk 3 and on edge.
I would have thought I would be given a reassurance scan but I have been told I will only get one if I have bleeding! So I am trying to sit tight till the 12 week but so hard, how much is a private scan do you know? Xx

Helensss · 30/09/2019 09:17

@Wishful30 strong positive there! Good luck at your appointment xx

SecondBaby2020 · 30/09/2019 09:28

@helensss They wouldn’t give me one until12 weeks either! I need that peace of mind though or I’ll send myself crazy. I got an offer for a viability scan for £49 at window to the womb. They are normally £79

Wishful30 · 30/09/2019 10:39

Ok so... I've been swabbed for infection, just incase due to the brown discharge. Otherwise it looks normal in there.
They're not too concerned about the red blood and cramps sat night as it was such a tiny amount, and still got positive test.
The EPU don't accept anyone under 6weeks, so I've had bloods done, and having 2nd bloods in 72hrs.
So I'll find out if it's progressing normally Friday morning 😱

First time I've said our loud 'I'm pregnant' so weird!!
