Hi all. So I'm due my first in May of next year. I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday. My husband is great but I have no friends at this stage they either have grown up kids or arent planning to any time soon
I have two sisters. One with grown up kids who she doesn't see and one who's getting married soon so is in her own little bubble.

I would just like someone to talk about all of this as I'm really anxious about the next 9 months.

Thanks for reading :)

Attempting to go back to work today...have been sick already in between getting out of the shower and getting dressed! Feel like I can’t have any more time off - wish me luck!

GinUnicorn · 25/09/2019 07:46

Good luck @Shak19

How far along are you?

facevalue · 25/09/2019 08:20

@flossy12 hahaha any excuse to shop eh!
how are you getting on

@danielasummer some of the girls said they got a scan for £50-£70 they just googled it.

@Shelbustotherescue awww your daughter must be over the moon and i'm sure your son will be too - then war begins about what sex is the baby/ babies!

@Rainforestandshine that's great news that your scan went well. we do get ourselves so worked up don't we! i haven't even heard from a midwife yet- i did submit an online registration and it said 5-10 days to get back to me!

according to my calculations my 12 week scan should be first week nov!

anyone else's appetite still poor? i'm not committing but food tastes yuk and i'm eating once or twice max per day!

facevalue · 25/09/2019 08:21

@Allyism oh dear .. i hope it settles and you can function! do you get the sickness when you move or it doesn't matter?

facevalue · 25/09/2019 08:22

@GinUnicorn love the Gin in your name! i'm similar i want that 12 week scan now 😱

Sunshine8888 · 25/09/2019 08:24

It’s crazy how we wish our lives away waiting for that 12 week scan isn’t it?! It just seems to take so long to come round!

Doodlebug321 · 25/09/2019 08:34

Morning all 🤢

Sounds like lots of excitement here!!!
I've had awful backache - diagnosed with UTI so now on antibiotics. Hoping they'll clear everything up. Still got headaches, especially above one eye and blurry vision in that eye. Am prone to migraines though so possibly related. Paracetamol helps a little.

Anyone have a scan post 7 weeks and it not be an internal??

Shelbustotherescue · 25/09/2019 08:56

@Doodlebug321 my scan at 7+1 didn't need an internal - I was ridiculously happy about that !!

Doodlebug321 · 25/09/2019 09:04

@Shelbustotherescue they were able to see what they needed to with an external...that's reassuring. Wonder if I should have a reassurance scan then. Hopefully it would reassure me ...suppose if it doesn't then it's 'cos it's non-viable 😫😔

Shelbustotherescue · 25/09/2019 09:12

I had a scan at 6+1 and they had to do internal as they were struggling to see it externally, one week later as soon as the put the scanner on you could see it and it's heartbeat - it was 2.1mm at the first scan and 9mm at the second ! @Doodlebug321 Smile

tiredmoma · 25/09/2019 10:00

Hi all can i join? Ive just found out this morning that im pregnant with #2 i think im 6 weeks making me due around 20th of May however my cycles have been a bit over the place so im not 100% sure

Lifesforlivingandloving · 25/09/2019 10:28

@Shelbustotherescue

I'm glad you've said this
I had an early scan ( internal ) and I thought I was 6+3 but the baby was only 2mm so they dated me back to 5+2 and I was worried something was wrong as it was small etc x we saw the heartbeat though which was lovely x
So I'm relieved to read yours had a good growth spurt
X

Shelbustotherescue · 25/09/2019 10:34

@Lifesforlivingandloving oh I know exactly how you feel, I was so worried and even though I could see the heart beat I was worried about it being so small, but they said it was normal - and exactly one week later it had grown 7mm !

Lifesforlivingandloving · 25/09/2019 10:45

@Shelbustotherescue

I hope to see my bigger baby at 12 week scan 😊 can't wait x

Bumpingalong84 · 25/09/2019 10:54

Hi ladies. Just looking for some reassurance. I had a slight bleed Sunday evening and had a scan yesterday at 6+1 (I think I’m more like 5+5) and they could see an embryo measuring 4mm around 6wks they said but no heartbeat was seen, all else looked good tho. They said it could still be too early and to go back next week for a scan.

Anyone had a scan this early didn’t see a HB then saw one. After a mmc in May my anxiety is super high 😩 I’ve had no more bleeding since!

Clark20 · 25/09/2019 11:09

Great to hear about all your early scans! Mine is a week on Sunday when we get back from holiday and can't wait!! Feel like I need to see to believe fully and allow myself to get excited. I haven't been sick. Some nauseas, sore boobs and just shattered! Last week I was itching a lot which is apparently to do with more blood flow. I think I'm further along than the doctors think. But will know more next Sunday. Anyone else finding it hard to believe there pregnant before the scan! Think 12 weeks is so long to wait! So glad I've booked an early one. But even that's taking too long!

GinUnicorn · 25/09/2019 11:39

@Allyism how did work go? Feeling any better?

@facevalue the irony I miss gin already!

woollycat · 25/09/2019 11:52

Hi everyone, just found this group! I am 5w+6d today, looking to book a private scan at 8w maybe!
The wait is really slow, I work full time but finding if difficult to find excitement at work now. Any tips on how to get yourself excited and busy with something other than the 12 week scan countdown?

Allyism · 25/09/2019 11:52

@GinUnicorn Getting there, made it through a meeting 👍 Having some acupuncture at work to try and relieve it

november90 · 25/09/2019 12:04

Hi everyone!
I'm about 6 weeks pregnant with my second, I have a little boy already who is 2.5.
I've been doing alright so far, I had a few really sickly days over the weekend but symptoms seem to have dropped and I feel normal today (other then shattered as my son had me up at 5:30!!).
I'm a bit anxious at the loss of symptoms but trying to stay positive, I want this SO much!
I have an early scan on Tuesday and I'm excited but so nervous! I think I am just having an anxious day today 🙈

SMC32 · 25/09/2019 12:24

Hi Everyone 👋🏼 Congrats on all your pregnancies ❤️

Joining the thread as I am also due May. Needed some pregnancy chat as we haven’t told many ppl yet as we suffered a second trimester loss in February so want to get a lot further before it becomes news.

I have had early scan last Friday (my dates said 7+6 but the put me back to 7+1) 😩 those 5 days make a big difference. Today I’m 7+6 with the hospital dates, but they will confirm at the 12 week dating scan 24th October.

I have had no complications this time so far, in the last pregnancy I bled from week 5 to week 18 before we lost our beautiful boy 💔

I have been really sick with 24/7 nausea from week 5 and now this week I am struggling to eat anything and being sick.

Not sure if i should call midwife as they may just say its just pregnancy 🤷🏻‍♀️ I have zero energy and working from home (thankfully have a great boss)

Anyone suffering with nausea & sickness

#tryingtostaypositive

facevalue · 25/09/2019 13:13

@smc32 welcome and i'm so sorry to hear about your loss x i'm 6+3 today and i'm suffering with nausea and being unable to eat .. it's getting worst. this morning i had a banana and 2 slices of toast which made me feel worst and had nothing since.. yesterday i had lunch but nothing after... i literally can force myself to eat once a day then i go off everything 😰... the idea of drinking water makes me heave

facevalue · 25/09/2019 13:16

@november90 congratulations .. my DD is 2.2 years old so know how u feel about the demand for energy when you havnt got any.. u r allowed an anxious day but honestly some days will feel ok and others won't so try not to worry .. ur body is giving u a break 😰 just eat and rest while it's possible

flossy12 · 25/09/2019 13:18

@facevalue any excuse 😆😆👏🏼 the sickness & nausea is defo on her way kept getting bouts of feeling really sick and gagging but haven't actually been sick as of yet🤞🏻🤞🏻 small regular meals are helping

MarshmallowsOnToast · 25/09/2019 13:21

I was about ready to go home early from work as felt so sick but just eaten some ready brek for lunch & it's made me feel so much better!

It's a viscous circle. I feel so sick because I need food, but because I feel so sick - I can't bare the thought of food. 👎🏻
