Hi all. So I'm due my first in May of next year. I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday. My husband is great but I have no friends at this stage they either have grown up kids or arent planning to any time soon
I have two sisters. One with grown up kids who she doesn't see and one who's getting married soon so is in her own little bubble.

I would just like someone to talk about all of this as I'm really anxious about the next 9 months.

Thanks for reading :)

sorry i confused you with another lady that said she took a blood test x

ejmay90 · 19/09/2019 16:08

@facevalue

Thats ok.
Yea i've been told it from the dr/midwifes it doesn't mean anything but doesn't stop me worrying :( hate this anxiety a miscarriage brings on a new pregnancy!

So hard to keep busy when your sat at work thinking about it constantly :(

facevalue · 19/09/2019 16:12

@ejmay80

i just read this website and it's reassuring

www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/information/worried-about-pregnancy-loss/

ejmay90 · 19/09/2019 16:20

@facevalue, thank you i have read this website quite a bit to reassure me lol!

Any amount of reading with the right stop doesn't seem to help me right now :( i just need to remember i lost all my symptoms for 4 days and they still found a heartbeat!

Sunshine8888 · 19/09/2019 19:00

Hi ladies I have just spent the past hour or so reading this thread from start to finish! I can relate so much to every worry raised here, I feel them all!!

I am somewhere between the April and May threads as based on my LMP I’m 9 weeks today but at my 6 week scan I was measuring 1 week and 4 days behind! The scan was reassuring for about two days and I’ve been panicking ever since that somethings gone wrong! I’ve had no sickness throughout but other symptoms like really sore boobs, tiredness, increased discharge, backaches! Pretty much everything else. Plus I was quite slim and I’m currently sporting a rather obvious blump (bloat/blump) already 🙈

I’m 31, this will be baby no 1 and I’m from the southwest. @MrsN2911 I am also from Bath 😊 !

I have another scan booked for 28th September. Had my booking in app and currently waiting for my 12 week scan date.

So lovely to join you ladies xxx

Shelbustotherescue · 19/09/2019 19:49

Hi Everyone,

So my second scan today was good, bubba is now 9mm. It was 2.1mm this time last week so that's some strong growth of 1mm a day

I'd like to say it's made me feel better but it hasn't, my partner has made today horrible with his attitude towards how I feel, he even said I've ruined this pregnancy for him Sad

I just wish he'd understand that I don't choose to worry, it's what has happened that is making me worry but here's a pic of bubba for you all to see ...

Due May 2020 - could do with a buddy!
MrsN2911 · 19/09/2019 19:50

@Sunshine8888 Congrats! And welcome! Sounds like you're a little further along than me. I'm not due til approx 17th May.
I know what you mean- this thread is super reassuring and makes me and my mad thoughts and worries feel normal!
I only moved to Bath in the summer but I really love it and it's quickly become like home :).
Feel free to message me privately if you want to chat more and potentially meet for a decaf coffee!
X

Sunshine8888 · 19/09/2019 20:02

@MrsN2911 I love Bath, it’s where I was born and grew up so it’s very special to me! Ah probably only 2-3 weeks ahead and that’s nothing in pregnancy, babies are early / late all the time! I’ll stay anonymous until I (hopefully) reach the second trimester and told work etc but definitely let’s chat, it would be lovely to know someone locally going through the same things ☺️ X

ejmay90 · 19/09/2019 20:05

@Shelbustotherescue

Ohhh amazing! So glad the scan went ok. How far gone are you?

I'm sorry to hear your partners been rubbish today, I honestly think they just don't understand what we've been through with a miscarriage as to why we are like this in the new pregnancy. Unless you've been through it you wont understand and they just think we can relax and it's not possible sometimes.

Your right we don't choose to worry, like we didn't choose to have a miscarriage to make us feel like this but unfortunately it's happened and how they deal with it also effects us.
Try not to worry about him I'm sure he didn't mean it and hopefully the next scan will be better:)
Just remember you've had a really positive scan today so try and relax and stare at your little bubba :)

Sunshine8888 · 19/09/2019 20:06

@Shelbustotherescue lovely scan pic and I’m glad baby is growing well! I can’t wait for mine next weekend, seems ages!

Sorry OH is being difficult! I just don’t they get it, its all consuming for us whereas they can just switch off whenever they feel like it 🤬

Shelbustotherescue · 19/09/2019 20:08

Thank you, I'm 7 weeks and 1 day.

It's bloody stressful that's for sure. He said if you want something to worry about worry about me leaving, because that's what I'll do if I have 8 months of this SadSadSad

Sunshine8888 · 19/09/2019 20:11

@Shelbustotherescue I would actually have lost it - he likely would have lost all future baby making facilities !!

Sunshine8888 · 19/09/2019 20:30

Just had my 12 week scan date confirmed for 10th October! Three weeks today!!! Nervous but excited!

mrsf1204 · 19/09/2019 20:54

@MrsN2911 and @Sunshine8888 I'm also from Bath! 👋🏼

Sunshine8888 · 19/09/2019 21:32

Oh wow @mrsf1204 hi!! We will have a little Bath May babies club ☺️

facevalue · 20/09/2019 04:18

it's tough x

Peppinana · 20/09/2019 07:27

@Shelbustotherescue I’m sorry to hear you’re having such a tough time with your OH Flowers
I managed some pizza for dinner last night so am feeling slightly more human today.

kstann · 20/09/2019 07:33

@Shelbustotherescue I know it's hard with everything you've been through, just think that the scan is strong sign that you're progressing well. I'm sorry you're going through that with Oh, have you considered speaking to someone professionally? Then you could speak without judgement and hopefully they can tune into ways to help manage your stress & anxiety xxx

Hardheadedwoman39 · 20/09/2019 07:49

Morning all, so I'm cautiously joining May 2020 as I'm 4 weeks today and tests are getting stronger (pic attached)...

I've tried to read most of the thread so far but.....not quite managed it!

Hello @Rainforestandshine 😊 from 1WW thread!

Congratulations to everyone 🌟

My vital stats:

Age: 41
This will be baby number 4 😬
Children are: 14, 12 & 1!
Due: 29th May

Looking forward to having people to sympathise with!

Rainforestandshine · 20/09/2019 08:21

@Hardheadedwoman39 Hi, good to have you on here. We’re due around the same time. My calculations put me at 25 May.

Question: did you ever experience period-like cramping during your other pregnancies. I keep going on about it but it’s the one symptom I have that I find frustrating – and that worries me. I had to take a paracetamol last night.

Hardheadedwoman39 · 20/09/2019 08:28

@Rainforestandshine yes definitely and I think it is possibly more noticeable in your first pregnancy as it's the first time your body has stretched in such a way. The hormone relaxin makes everything start to loosen - ligaments etc.

I would only be concerned if there's any bleeding too but even then it's very common to have a small bleed and for it to be nothing. I had two in my last pregnancy and it was just a collapsed follicle they think 🙄

When you have symptoms you worry and when you don't you worry even more!

Bumpingalong84 · 20/09/2019 08:32

Hi @Rainforestandshine I’m sorry you are having a rough time of it but glad to hear your scan went well.

I just wanted to share that I have a 4yr old and in that pregnancy I had lots of cramping up till week 7-8 I think. My last pregnancy which ended in mmc I had none, I don’t know if that means something or nothing. But just thought I’d share. I am 5+4 today and still getting cramping every now and then.

Hope you have a calmer day today

Rainforestandshine · 20/09/2019 08:46

@Hardheadedwoman39 Thanks hun. You’re right. The cramps went away for approximately 2 days and I worried about that… until they came back last night. They tend to be short but sharp, resembling the start of a period. Fortunately I haven’t had any blood so I’m very thankful. How are you feeling?

@Bumpingalong84 Thanks. I haven’t yet had a scan as it’s too early. But I really would appreciate one soon. I self-referred to a local hospital but haven’t yet heard back from anyone. I was hoping because it is my first and I am over 35 that I would get an early scan, but it doesn’t seem so.

How does one book a private scan if an early scan is not offered? Any guidance would be much appreciated.

MrsN2911 · 20/09/2019 09:13

Is anyone here NOT suffering with sore breasts during this early stage? I'm really not and it's causing me all kinds of worry! Who knew I'd be stressing because something doesn't hurt! Like I had very slightly sore nipples (sorry, TMI) in the very early days but since getting past 5 weeks it's subsided somewhat. I just feel like the only pregnant person in the world who can't complain about her boobs! 😂.
Anyway, happy Friday team! Hope you're all feeling well today! X

kstann · 20/09/2019 09:19

@Rainforestandshine I had an early scan on Monday, at 6+6. I just googled places close to me. Mine was £50 (on a Monday bizarrely)😂
It was so amazing to hear the heartbeat ❤️

@MrsN2911 I had sore boobs from about week 4-6 but not now really. They are getting bigger and maybe slightly more tender sometimes but thats it. X
