Hi all. So I'm due my first in May of next year. I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday. My husband is great but I have no friends at this stage they either have grown up kids or arent planning to any time soon
I have two sisters. One with grown up kids who she doesn't see and one who's getting married soon so is in her own little bubble.

I would just like someone to talk about all of this as I'm really anxious about the next 9 months.

Thanks for reading :)

What symptoms, if any, have you been having? I've had quite a lot of nausea, but not actually been sick.. Yet! I've felt achey all over - a bit like that feeling you have before you realise you've got a cold. My nipples are rock hard and quite sore and yesterday my boobs were really hot... Which ridiculously led to me googling 'hot boobs' .... Thank God I didn't Google on my work computer!
Is anyone else sharing these?

facevalue · 17/09/2019 13:05

@nelly28 that's hilarious " hot boobs". so far i've had the sore boobs before i even had a pregnancy test. i havnt vomited but had felt nauseous randomly and definitely tired/ sleepy/ lazy i assumed it's psychological because i intentionally minimised all activities and my husband had been doing most lifting and nursery run. i've been living on toast /cheese/ salads.. last night i smelled the pulled pork and i felt it was disgusting and tried my usual yummy pepperoni pizza and couldn't eat it. my sense of smell is heightened it's crazy! i kept feeling that i stink and my husband stinks and the house stinks but even the laundry coming out of the machine stinks... we might be a really stinky family hahaha but no one else can smell it.

Hello everyone!!

I have just found out I'm pregnant two days ago and due in May 2020 too! Thought I'd join this for support and for some people to talk too as trying not to tell people until 12 weeks. We are 3+6 with first midwife appointment 5th October. We are flying to Crete next Friday which I'm worried about. Also... I'm just so confused with what I can and can't eat! I don't want to eat anything wrong...... so many different websites say different things and a lot out of date!

Anyone help me out with food?!
Also anyone flown pregnant before.
AND anyone had an early scan before? We want one at 6 weeks. But just wanted peoples opinions if worth it etc Smile

Sorry super long post!

flossy12 · 17/09/2019 13:35

@Clark20 ooohhh I'm off to Crete in 2 weeks! I hope you have a great time! You'll be fine to fly don't worry just be careful of possible sickness ☺️ I've got a scan at 7+2 but think I might actually be 7 or 6+6

Nelly28 · 17/09/2019 13:47

@facevalue - I know! I really don't know what I was thinking! Also I really don't think you and your family have suddenly turned really stinky - I'm sure you have enough to worry about without that too!!
I feel your pain about the beige food though- that's all I want despite everything saying how important fruits and vegetables are!

@clark20 congratulations! Sorry I'm also first time pregnant so can't help too much! I'm getting a bit stressed out with all the dos and don'ts with food too though. I'm just trying to be a lot more careful with what I eat though - both in terms of making sure it's healthy but also how it has been prepared - making sure I wash my fruits really well before I eat them etc. In terms of everything else- I'm kinda going on the rule that meats/ fish are fine if they are cooked, but no big Predator fish like shark, swordfish, tuna because of the mercury. Hard cheeses are ok- soft cheeses out. I'm a bit confused about the rules for refereeing reheating food- so have used that as an excuse to give all left overs to my husband 🤣😂

Clark20 · 17/09/2019 13:57

@facevalue thanks! That helps with the food front!! My main confusion is with mayo, and pastas in a sauce or potato salad, coleslaw etc! Can I just eat pasteurised things? I guess I have to check the back on everything for pasteurised??? I love brie and that will be a sad loss for 9 months!!

In regards to symptoms my boobs were sore, but just thought I was coming on. Last month I was late on and convinced I was pregnant..... and wasn't. So this month haven't thought about it at all and took a test as a whim.... 6 tests later, 2 at 5am Monday morning I believed it 😂.

Has anyone gained weight? Hoping I can use this as my excuse for my weight gain haha!

@flossy12 Ahhh brilliant!! That puts my mind at rest. Anything you reckon we need to take before flight to help with sickness! Can't wait to chill and eat in the sun for a week with some mocktails! Wink have you booked your scan already?? Didn't know if I was booking it too soon, but really want to pre book it for when we come back from holiday day after midwife appointment. Just can't wait to see bubba and for it to feel more real! ❤️

ejmay90 · 17/09/2019 14:16

@Clark20 Congrats on your pregnancy!

I had a scan at 6 weeks but that's because i had a previous miscarriage and got myself anxious.

They found a heartbeat but it is the earliest they can see one she told me and she was surprised she saw one that early.

I found it worth it too keep my anxiety at bay but that was because of previous miscarriage, it doesn't change the fact what will be will be unfortunately. Mine was £79 and i was happy to pay that to keep me sane lol x

flossy12 · 17/09/2019 14:42

@Clark20 I haven't planned to take anything but I haven't suffered with any sickness yet 🤞🏻🤞🏻 yeah I booked a private school be as don't even have my booking in appointment until I'm 11 weeks so wanted to check everything was ok before I told mine and OH parents (were telling his parents before we go so I don't have to make excuses for not drinking 😆)

It was only £48 which I could afford so booked it for 4 days before we fly! Would hate to tell his parents and then find out we had lost peanut 💞 even though I know it can happen all the way through pregnancy

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 15:18

All went well with the midwife - did any of you know that if it's been longer than 10 years since your last pregnancy you are treated as a first time mum as by the your body will have "forgotten" what it did before so it's like going through it for the first time !

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 17/09/2019 15:24

Hi everyone. I'm glad I'm not the only one having days where you don't feel pregnant. I'm really worrying with this pregnancy. I even sent DH out for more pregnancy tests yesterday. I'm 5+6. Just trying to remind myself that I didn't really have many symptoms with my first pregnancy.

mrsf1204 · 17/09/2019 15:25

Hi everyone. Hope it's ok for me to join too!

I'm approx 3-4 weeks I believe (from conception) due 20th May, and found out last week.

I've had a bit of a run of it so far to be honest, I have made another thread where I explain more about how I went for an early scan but nothing showed. More detail in that post but long story short....

I was having a dull ache in my pelvis, and on one occasion wiped and had a very very tiny amount of pale pink discharge. I called the midwife and explained, the pain wasn't harsh at all, I just wanted to check in as it's my first pregnancy. She advised I go for an early scan even though I insisted I wasn't far enough along to go to one. (From my last period I'd be 7 weeks but I know we conceived 3-4 weeks ago). Anyway I went following her instructions yesterday and they could find a pregnancy. Either because I'm too early or because it isn't viable.... Sad

In my head and heart I know it's because I'm so early, I didn't want to go for that scan as all it's now made me do is panic...

But I know everything is fine deep down. I've been taking tests for the last week and they keep getting darker and darker, and my boobs hurt and I'm starting to feel nauseous this week.

So fingers crossed all is ok, and I can join you guys through this journey Smile

Namechangeymcnamechange11 · 17/09/2019 15:27

Oops posted too soon.
Am trying to convince DH that we should have a reassurance private scan but he doesn't want to spend the money :(

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 15:37

@mrsf1204 sorry to hear that - did they see anything on your scan at all ? Have they done bloods ? I have everything crossed for you

mrsf1204 · 17/09/2019 16:03

@Shelbustotherescue no they saw nothing but if I am only 3 weeks then I wouldn't expect them to anyway!

mrsf1204 · 17/09/2019 16:03

Oh and bloods were taken yesterday by a different dr in the afternoon @Shelbustotherescue - just waiting on the results

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 16:08

@mrsf1204 but are you 3 weeks from conception or 3 weeks from the first day of your last period ??

mrsf1204 · 17/09/2019 16:12

@Shelbustotherescue 3 weeks from conception. 7 from my last period which is why they thought to scan me but I kept saying you won't find anything yet!!!

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 16:17

That's odd because they base every date from the first day of last period - so I assumed that regardless of when you conceived, 7 weeks from the last period was right to scan even though technically you're only 3 weeks ?

mrsf1204 · 17/09/2019 16:23

@Shelbustotherescue that's why the method of period dating is so ridiculous! I know I can't be more than 4 week at the most, which is why I say 3 weeks, you can't see anything on a scan before 6 weeks and sometimes you can't even then - that's why they don't typically scan before 12 weeks to be safe. So going by my period dates which are really irregular anyway is useless and put 3/4 weeks difference in my dates!

They said last period as it makes it easier for them to give a broad date for everyone as not everyone knows when they conceive.

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 16:32

That's what I mean, with mine the hospital said we will scan you at 6 weeks pregnant, but I would have only have been 3 or 4 max from conception - I have had to have this a couple of times now.

When have they booked you back in ? Can't remember if you've said Blush

mrsf1204 · 17/09/2019 16:41

@Shelbustotherescue and did they see anything? At a minimum I'm could not even be 3 weeks yet! Until the end of this week. It's hard when your periods are irregular as I would have ovulated later etc.

No they haven't booked me back in told me to take another test in a week and if still positive go from there 🤷🏼‍♀️

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 16:46

@mrsf1204 so the one, they saw a small but empty sac, however my hcg never rose and I went on to have a miscarriage after a few days - I went for early scan as I had pain and some pinky discharge. This pregnancy I had a scan at 5 weeks and 6 days since my last period and we saw yolk sac with baby and heartbeat (I had this scan because I have had 3 miscarriages in a row so I am under the care of the early pregnancy unit so they scan at 6,8,10 and 12 weeks)

I'm surprised they haven't book for a second scan - have they said they'll do more bloods in 2 days to check your hcg ?

danielasummer · 17/09/2019 16:53

Hi everyone, so happy to have found this forum! I'm due 19th May 2020 and I'm currently 5+1.. had sore boobs to begin with, prompting me to do a test 6 days ago, (did 3) and came up as pregnant. I have SUPER irregular cycles but I know when I ovulated so I know I'm 3+1 after conceiving (making me 5+1 pregnant).

The reason I'm posting is I am so unbelievably anxious about the health of baby. I am booked in for a scan at 10+1 but haven't yet spoken to or seen a midwife. My boobs aren't so sore today sending me into a panic and I have been on off crying with worry since I found out last week! I hope this is normal.. I just don't 'feel pregnant' today so I'm freaking out.

Also..congratulations to all of you. Roll on May! x

mrsf1204 · 17/09/2019 17:02

@Shelbustotherescue no they have done nothing! Literally just sent me on my way with instructions to do a test in a week. They just said the chances are it's far too early to see anything...

I had to force my GP to do a blood test to have something to monitor changes against, I'm waiting for the results of those now...

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 17:04

@mrsf1204 gosh that's poor ! Where abouts are you ?!
