Hi all. So I'm due my first in May of next year. I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday. My husband is great but I have no friends at this stage they either have grown up kids or arent planning to any time soon
I have two sisters. One with grown up kids who she doesn't see and one who's getting married soon so is in her own little bubble.

I would just like someone to talk about all of this as I'm really anxious about the next 9 months.

Thanks for reading :)

@flossy12 thanks, i just panic as i had a miscarriage in June and i lost all my symptoms and then bleeding came a week or so later so just dreading that's happening again! :(

kstann · 17/09/2019 09:31

Good morning ladies!

Congratulations to those recently joined!
Theres so many messages to read, I've been trying to play catch up.
I had my early scan last night, dating 7 weeks today!
It was really reassuring for me and last night was the first night I've had a decent sleep in month! All looks to be developing well and we heard the heart beat - it was heaven!🥰 My midwife is coming Over at 10 for my booking in appt.

Felt pretty nauseous most days and a few days full on sick, still don't have an appetite and my diet is pretty beige!

My midwife asked where I'd like to be booked in at / have the baby- does anyone with previous children have any advice in terms of midwife led unit only ect xx

ejmay90 · 17/09/2019 09:32

@Bumpingalong84

Ohh really? i did wonder if they work like that. Didn't want to do one for it to say i'm less than i am and to panic me more.

I had severe nausea 2 weeks ago, stopped for 4 days then came back last monday for a week and now it's stopped again!
So hard :( especially from previous miscarriage, trying not to compare but it's difficult!

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 09:40

I completely understand, I had a missed miscarriage in May, I had a scan in April and saw a heartbeat then when we went for our 12 week scan discovered it had been a twin pregnancy first one hadn’t made it past 5 weeks and the other stopped shortly after 8 week scan. So I’m completely anxious and I know over analysing everything Sad but I just have to keep reminding myself to try and enjoy this and as you say try not to compare and just hope and believe that all will be ok this time. Big hugs

ejmay90 · 17/09/2019 09:42

@Bumpingalong84 i'm so sorry to hear that, that must have been hard for you!
Yea it's so difficult and wish i didn't compare but hard not too.
Fingers crossed for everyone!

Thank you!

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 09:44

I did my self referral to midwifes today. Thought I’d give it a week to be sure!

@kstann I have a 4yr old DD however I can’t really advise as I wanted a water birth in midwife led unit which sounded amazing but ended up delivering her at 36wks so had to be in the hospital and no water birth for me! Hoping this one stays in past 37wks!

kstann · 17/09/2019 09:46

@Bumpingalong84 @ejmay90
Sorry your messages must have typed when I was writing mine, don't want you to think I'm rude. I'm so sorry you've been through the trauma of mc xx

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 09:57

Don’t be silly @kstann huge congratulations to you Smile that must have been so nice.

Completely feel for you with the nausea, with my DD I had it from 6-16 weeks and it was awful, but hopefully it will pass and you will get your appetite back Smile

ejmay90 · 17/09/2019 10:02

@kstann no worries at all :)

Aww glad you had a positive scan!
It's so lovely to hear the heartbeat isn't it? heard it at 6 weeks just waiting for my 8 week scan hoping everything is all well!

The nausea is the worst but mine seems to have died down now which i find odd!

flossy12 · 17/09/2019 10:06

@ejmay90 aww sweetie I'm sorry to hear that 😔😟 fingers crossed then! 🤞🏻🤞🏻

facevalue · 17/09/2019 10:12

lots of messages to read which is lovely that there's a lot of care and emotions being shared.

I appreciate your explanations of the word " reassurance" and i'm sorry the ladies who made the sarcastic comments felt the need to what feels like ganging up instead of simply explaining what they think.

again obviously we all cope with different amounts of fact at this early stage of pregnancy, it's true we should just hope and say nice things even if it's false reassurance.

only a 12 week scan is a truly reassuring one according to drs and the NHS. i saw a few ladies in an earlier thread have an 8 week scan and saw a reassuring heart beat the a week later the next scan no heartbeat. my best friend was pregnancy and all was well and her 12 week scan no heart beat the foetus had stopped growing at 10-11 weeks and she had to go through a clearing op.

@flossy12 plz accept my apology as i did not intent to upset you. i also had a miscarriage in May and i fear spreading false reassuring comments which r not obviously your fault because as u say your clinic called it reassurance scan. but lots of things get sold to make money and they are not truly what they claim to be xxx hugs and i hope now you know why i said the above

in terms of support - i don't feel it's kind to start attacking someone purely because they wrote something in a way that made you assume the worst. it would have been kinder to just ask why did you say A B C. i don't claim to " know it all" but i do know somethings and i'm sure others know other things and i value it if someone would take the time to share their knowledge or experience whether is good or bad.

facevalue · 17/09/2019 10:19

@Bumpingalong84 when do you think i should tell my GP? i also had a MC in may so thanks for sharing this. i am a little worried i'd call the GP then bleed 🤪

facevalue · 17/09/2019 10:25

@kstann that's so lovely. i'd love to record the heart beat i might try that when i go to my scan i. Oct ( fingers crossed there's one). i don't know about nurse led units from personal experience because i had a C section in a hospital but lots of ladies rave by it. have you considered joining NCT? they do these really helpful classes to talk you through options and also your medwife is able to advise you and i know from a friend that you can ask to have a tour of the unit before you decide xxx goodluck

Babymama18 · 17/09/2019 10:35

I’m due 25/27th may only just found out yesterday, it’ll be my second DC x

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 10:57

Congratulation @ Babymama18 I’m due on the 18th May with my 2Dc too.

@facevalue I sent my referral through today for the midwifes online, I don’t have to visit my Gp so I’ll just wait for an appointment for 8week booking now! It’s up to you I guess, it could still all go wrong for me (hoping not) but I need to get the ball rolling at some point I guess!

facevalue · 17/09/2019 11:07

@bumpingalong84 hopefully it will all be fine. that's what i'm telling myself. i think i might call the surgery to find out what the procedure is here ( we moved recently )

@Babymama18 CONGRATULATIONS. welcome to the group / exciting times. how old is your other child? i'm due 17th May.

Babymama18 · 17/09/2019 11:08

@bumpingalong84 thankyou! Congrats to you too! How old is your first little one x

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 11:10

@Babymama18 she’s 4, how about yours?

Babymama18 · 17/09/2019 11:10

@facevalue my 1st Dc is almost 18month he’s a little boy and a massive handful at the moment 😂🤦🏻‍♀️ This pregnancy wasn’t planned at all but it’s happening and we’re happy now we’ve let it sink in a little 😊 x

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 11:15

Ohh bless you, you’ll be kept busy Smile everything happens for a reason so I’m sure all will be fine and exciting times ahead.

Babymama18 · 17/09/2019 11:17

Yeah definitely, I can’t wait for my lb to have a little sister or brother 😃

facevalue · 17/09/2019 11:34

@babymama18 my DD is 2. She's so chatty at the moment. clingy almost like she can sense there's something cooking. i would love another little girl and my husband would love a boy but we both just want a healthy baby xxx exciting

@Bumpingalong84 awww 4 is such an adorable age. my nephew turned 4 last friday. will she be starting school in 2020?

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 11:38

Yes she will, I say she’s 4 but she actually turns 4 next month, just easier than saying nearly 4 😂 so will be handy to be on Mat leave when she starts. We are the same i’d Love another girl and DH is torn between a boy and girl so think no matter what we will be super excited for a healthy happy little brother or sister for her. She’ll be so excited when she finds out.

kstann · 17/09/2019 11:38

@facevalue The midwifes Just Been to my house for my booking in appt, we went though some options again, I think I'm going to go for a hospital which has a birthing midwife led unit alongside. Then there's kind of the best of both. The place I went to yesterday gave us a USB, with a video of the whole scan, heart beat and pictures 🥰

facevalue · 17/09/2019 12:32

@kstann awww i love that you have it on a USB! i just rang my surgery to ask what the process was and i was advised to just google it and pick the hospital and simply register online. i did it! says they will get in touch in 5-10 days. that made it feel real x secretly getting a little excited 😍👍🏼
