Hi all. So I'm due my first in May of next year. I only found out I was pregnant on Saturday. My husband is great but I have no friends at this stage they either have grown up kids or arent planning to any time soon
I have two sisters. One with grown up kids who she doesn't see and one who's getting married soon so is in her own little bubble.

I would just like someone to talk about all of this as I'm really anxious about the next 9 months.

Thanks for reading :)

@Shak19 @CharlieB93

Yes!! I had the feeling of not feeling pregnant yesterday also, my nausea has slowed down a bit as was strong last week.
Have my 8 week scan next tuesday 24th and now worrying!
I had one at 6 weeks as had some bleeding but all was well, just worry about fluctuating symptoms from previous miscarriage!

How is everyone dealing with the anxiety?

flossy12 · 16/09/2019 10:59

@Shak19 @CharlieB93 @ejmay90 I'm in the same boat girls! We were going to tell my parents over the weekend but I backed out due to being too scared 😓😫 also went to a friends last night who's partner knew so had to tell her so I just showed her the BFP test picture 🤦🏼‍♀️ I know what you mean about not feeling pregnant! I said to OH last night 'I feel like I'm lying to people if I tell them I'm pregnant because I don't feel it at all and haven't even had a scan yet'

CharlieB93 · 16/09/2019 11:06

@shak19 @ejmay90 @flossy12
How far along are you girls? No idea when to tell family etc, I find it quite hard as i'm much closer to two of my girlfriends (more like sisters) than i am my family, i've been avoiding them as I know i'll blab!
@ejmay90 sorry to hear of your MC, I think your anixety is perfectly acceptable and understandable seeing as what you've been through but try and relax and think positively lovely xx

facevalue · 16/09/2019 11:06

hi ladies. many congratulations on your BFP +ves and to the ladies who had your early scans and have already heard the amazing heartbeat.

I hope it's ok for me to join this group.
i am 5+1 and Due 17th May 20. from ICSI.
if successful it will be my #2 .. my DD is 2 years old.

last May I had an early miscarriage and as you can imagine i will probably be holding my breath until the 12 week scan! then hold again until the 20 weeks scan! and again until birth 😭😢😢😢.

i kind of felt pregnant purely because of the sore boobs. i've been a little off food but able to have snacks/ toast/ salad and CHOCOLATES!

I spent time reading this thread from the start and kept meaning to reply to each but realise my brain isn't that good to remember each nickname to reply to the specifics at this stage but with time i'm sure all the nicknames will be second nature.

how young are we all? just to put it in perspective

i'm 40!

i have been having weird dreams/ nightmares and my DH kept getting messages from ME at 2am 3am even when i thought i was asleep! i'm not on any drugs and have not had a drink in over 6 weeks so it's interesting what the hormones are doing!

my DD has become so clingy - i wonder if kids can smell pregnancy and they get jealous already !

Shak19 · 16/09/2019 11:09

It's an absolutely nightmare isnt it. I ended up in a&e on Thursday cause was so worried it was ectopic. Luckily everything is fine. But genuinely still so worried and dunno how to stop.

@flossy12 aww don't worry about telling parents, both sets of parents and siblings know as i had in my head well if it goes wrong again they will know either way so why not tell them. Work know and a few close friends but i really don't want to tell anyone else until 12 or 20 weeks.
I get what you mean telling people your pregnant when you don't feel it, but a lady i work with didn't feel any symptoms until 12 weeks and all was fine.

@CharlieB93 Thank you. I am now 7+1 and had a scan at 6 weeks which measured me dead on 6 weeks. I'll be 8+2 at my 8 weeks scan on 24th.
I felt after my previous miscarriage that telling my family and friends early this time is better as they regularly check on me and seeing as both of them have babies i can ask them questions rather than suffer in silence.

@Shak19 Ohhh no!! I'm so glad everything is fine! I understand, even after my 6 week scan i'm still worried!! don't think it will ever stop until i give birth to be honest!

flossy12 · 16/09/2019 11:39

@CharlieB93 I'm only 5+4 we are planning to tell parents after my reassurance scan when I'll be around 7+5 ☺️ I'm really close to my sister and it's hard not to say things too 😂

flossy12 · 16/09/2019 11:41

@ejmay90 that's reassuring then! I'm going to tell most close friends & family after my holiday so I'll be 9 weeks by then, and hopefully have a little something to show for it!

ejmay90 · 16/09/2019 11:55

@flossy12 that will be nice! Enjoy your holiday :)

Nelly28 · 16/09/2019 13:34

Hi ladies,
Congrats to you all, I'd love to join this chat to please.
I'm 5+4, it feels so good to say this to someone! My husband is really supportive and excited but I don't think it's on his mind as it is mine - it's all I think about!!
I've been feeling sick and stomach cramps for the last 2 weeks, this is my first baby so I'm just trusting these feelings are 'normal' and trying not to overthink things (of course I am anyway!)

Peppinana · 16/09/2019 19:17

So my morning sickness has well and truly kicked in (started before positive test with both dd and this one) and I’ve got a hideous cold too so feel like I’m doing nothing but whinge at dh while not being able to tell anyone why I feel so lousy. Had to tell five year old ds I’ve got a bug as he was concerned. Hope everyone is doing ok? I’m due to ring GP this week to find out how to self refer to midwife (it was different both times for ds and dd and the building the midwives used to operate out of has closed). Gentle hugs for those feeling anxious or rubbish.

MrsN2911 · 16/09/2019 19:22

@facevalue I'm also due 17th May! Congrats to you! I'm also a serial worrier so I can totally relate to how you're feeling!

I just caught up on the days messages and it's so reassuring to read that others have the same thoughts and feelings as me!

Where are we all from? I'm in Bath.

Have a good evening 😊 x

Moongirl10 · 16/09/2019 20:27

Is anyone else experiencing back pain? I was doing a bit of gardening this weekend so that probably didn’t help! I think I’m around 5+5 but I have a dating scan in a couple of weeks. No nausea yet!

facevalue · 16/09/2019 22:43

@moongirl10 you probably pulled a muscle gardening. it's too early for any sort of pregnancy related back pain x i hope rest and paracetamol will do the job x

@MrsN2911 congratulations and excited yet? we can't quiet believe it still x

@Nelly28 welcome to the group and congratulations x

@flossy12 why do you call it a reassurance scan? the basic fact is that most miscarriages happen in the first 12 weeks that's why the NHS doesn't waste resources on early scans because it's not reassuring even if we have early scans!

@Shak19 sorry to hear you had to go into A&E. anxiety is an awful thing. it literally eats you a live. what can you do to reduce and dilute it? any hobbies ? counselling? etc

MountAbora · 17/09/2019 06:09

@Moongirl10 Iv been having a bit of back pain too, worst was after driving tho. I read at this stage that it’s the ligaments in your body changing so hopefully nothing to worry too much about!

devilishlygood · 17/09/2019 06:37

@facevalue if you go private for a scan, it’s called a Reassurance Scan. Or if you are being cared for by the Recurrent Loss team, it’s called a Reassurance Scan. Because it IS reassuring to see an embryo progressing...for the parents AND for the medical team, who can determine whether a mother will need extra tests etc should there be something organic preventing a pregnancy from maturing. You know a lot, don’t you. This is a SUPPORT thread!

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 07:26

Just checking in again ladies. So many messaged from so many ladies. Hope everyone is doing well this morning.

On the whole reassurance scan front it’s tricky for me as we had one due to bleeding and saw a heartbeat at 8weeks then went on to have a mmc! Saying that, I’m still considering having one at 8 weeks because the odds show that actually the risk of miscarriage after seeing a heartbeat at 8 weeks is super low. We were just unfortunate. So anyone having one I’d say it is reassuring.

Symptoms over here are mild, I’m only 5+1 the boobs are sore and feel slightly icky in the mornings. Two previous pregnancies nausea didn’t hit till late in week 5! Will be interesting to see what happens this time.

Have told a handful of people but only one of them a family member (sister in law) otherwise just a few close friends for now.

flossy12 · 17/09/2019 08:40

@facevalue woah someone got a bee in their bonnet, that's what it's called at the clinic where I've booked it there for that's what I've referred to it as 🤷🏼‍♀️👍🏻

flossy12 · 17/09/2019 08:40

@Moongirl10 I've had back pain too sweetie! In little bouts but nothing that's lasted too long x

flossy12 · 17/09/2019 08:43

@devilishlygood thank you! Thought it was just me picking up on the 'know it all' vibes, the people on this thread are here to support each other not to make others feel stupid or insecure, for some women on here it is there first time TTC and being pregnant so everything is brand new

Shelbustotherescue · 17/09/2019 09:01

Morning everyone !

I've got my first midwife appt this morning, I'm 6+6 now, symptoms are progressing thick and fast which is good !

Looking forward to my next REASSURANCE scan next week ! Got my fingers tightly crossed that the beans heart is still beating

How's everyone doing today ?

ejmay90 · 17/09/2019 09:06

Having a panic this morning!!
Feel like my symptoms have gone today and having one of those 'non pregnant' days!

Anyone got any advice how to get over this anxiety?

Also is there any truth in doing a clearblue digital to see if it's matching up to how far gone i am. Had a scan at 6 weeks and was measuring exactly on 6 weeks so now i'm 7+2 but wondering if a clearblue will tell me that? or will it panic me more? ahhhh!

ejmay90 · 17/09/2019 09:09

@Shelbustotherescue

Good luck for your midwife appointment. I have mine friday.
What symptoms do you have?
Have you already had a scan already? i had one at 6 weeks but also have one next tuesday at 8+2.

Fingers crossed for your next scan!

flossy12 · 17/09/2019 09:22

@ejmay90 I get those days sometimes! Just stay calm as long as you have no severe pains or bleeding nothing can be that wrong surely? I think I'm not PG all the time but waiting for my REASSURANCE scan to see if everything is progressing as it should ☺️

Bumpingalong84 · 17/09/2019 09:29

@ejmay90 I don’t think the clear blue test work that way. You only get the 3+ once you hcg reaches above 1000 and something. So you won’t get anything past 3+ which you should get sometime after 5 weeks I think 🙈

I know how you feel with the anxiety tho, trying to keep distracted. Wishing the nausea to start properly just so I can feel more ‘pregnant’ tho have to remind myself I have friends who had zero symptoms and perfectly healthy pregnancies. It’s so very hard tho isn’t it!
