I've just found my first stretch mark and i'm absolutely gutted (i know i shouldn't be but i've always suffered with my appearance and this hasn't helped) i knew it was going to happen at some point and i have been moisturising daily anyway! Is there anything that makes them less noticeable OR am i just going to have to accept that this is me now? I feel i need to embrace them but i'm finding it hard

I got a few stretch marks after birth but they were not very deep and went away on their own but my sister got stretch marks in puberty and they are still there 30 years later but not noticeable now to anyone except her
I know people say about bio oil and cocobutter bit I think it has alot to do with your own skin type some people are more prone
I used cocobutter during and after pregnancy so maybe it did work
Hopefully yours aren't deep and disappear on their own
Some look like the skin has torn those are the one that won't shift

I got really bad ones at 28 weeks, I'm 35 now and they're angry looking buggers. I use Vaseline with cocoa butter and pretty much every type of coconut oil based cream I could find but in all fairness mine are still purple and angry... but I'm sure they'll go white eventually after a few months, I'll still keep putting cream on twice a day just in case it helps

I had absolutely none in pregnancy and was feeling a bit smug then a couple weeks after little one was born, they appeared all over hips and top of legs etc so I just used a little scrub in the shower and then moisturiser on top.

They're still there but much more faded.

Your body is doing an amazing thing and will change to provide a snug home for the little one over the 9 month duration. It's part and parcel!

Congrats on your pregnancy.

Yep, towards the end of pregnancy/after birth I got loads in unexpected (to me) places like my inner thighs and lower back! Hmm

Honestly, though, they really don't bother me - scars and body marks have always been pretty cool in our family because they tell a story and they fall into that category for me. Any chance you can think of it like that?

I'm less chilled about the cellulite but that was there before DS so I can't really blame him for that! I also don't seem to be able to stop eating Cadbury chocolate fingers so it can't bother me that much.

I used Bio oil every night from about 12 weeks with first pregnancy.

I was quite big as baby was 8 pound 4.
Ended up with only a couple of stretch marks around belly button, which you can't notice 2 years on.

Might be worth a try if you are worried :).

I didn’t get any in my first pregnancy, but 30 weeks into this one I’ve got quite a few that have appeared on the underside of my bump (they’re itchy as hell too which is a nightmare!).

Initially I was a bit upset, but to be fair I wasn’t really moisturising the area properly (which I’ve started doing now) and I’ve started to make my peace with them! Hoping they’ll fade after birth but if not, i’ll just learn to live with them!

Congratulations on your pregnancy!

Thank you everyone! Going to do bio oil and vaseline and hope for the best! Its incredibly itchy. I just need to look at the positive that i'm groing a baby and my body needs to accommodate that Smile

I used the Secret Saviours kit from 16 weeks and didn’t get any stretch marks, it does say if you use it it can stop existing stretch marks getting any worse so could be worth a try depending how far along you are?
I also used Palmers stretch mark lotion and the tummy butter, and they were both really hydrating, my sister who has stretch marks has used these after and said they helped reduce appearance Smile
