How careful do you need to be around people smoking outside?
I always keep my distance but I can still smell it and I get worried I'm inhaling the smoke & it'll harm my baby.

It wont harm your baby,we are exposed to all sorts car fumes etc in every day life. I hate smoking but ive never worried it would harm my baby.try not to worry.

I don’t think there is much you can really do unless your going to stay inside. Just keep away as much as you can from anyone you see smoking.
I am an ex smoker ( gave up nearly 6 years ago) and I detest it! My husband smokes! A lot! He promised he would give up by the time baby was born! That baby is now 17months and I am 33 weeks now with his 2nd baby! It causes arguments daily! At my last midwife appointment she tested my carbon monoxide and then asked me if I was a smoker as my reading was 6. For a non smoker it should be between 0-4. I was extremely upset and crying and very distressed as for the last nearly 2 years I have spent telling him how him smoking ( which he only does in garden) is still present when he exhales and on his clothes and on his body even after showering and this test result proved to me and it just made me very angry and upset.
I will be ensuring the midwife and HV have a word with him and I’ve made it clear if he is still smoking when baby arrives then he will have to sleep in spare room.
Sorry rant over.
