17 week painful cramping

I'm 17+5 and for the last few days have had quite a lot of cramping which is actually making me wince in pain. It's similar to the cramps I had much earlier on which I presume were growing/stretching pains but I also have Crohn's disease and it's similar to the stomach cramps I can get from that so I've no idea what's going on. For the last few weeks I've had this impending sense of needing to go for another private scan so don't know whether I should just to be reassured as my anomoly scan isn't for 3 weeks.

Anyone else had cramping around a similar time?

It could be round ligament pain. Your uterus is still stretching quite a lot around this time. I wouldn't worry yourself too much but if it will calm your anxiety then there's no harm in having the cheapest private scan. I wanted a private scan as I was worried around 22 weeks so it was AFTER I had the anomaly scan, so instead of paying £79 for a reassurance scan, I just paid £29 for a quick gender scan. I knew the gender but I just wanted to know my baby was OK. That was it! So I would try and get the cheapest option if you don't want to waste too much money. Try not to worry x

Thanks Granny that's good to know. There's a place not far from us that does then for £45 so worth paying for peace of mind I think
