I am still waiting on maternity Allowence to reply back to me but once they do does anyone know if I would be entitled to universal credit too. As MA would only just cover my rent and bills. My boyfriend earns more than me but not a lot and can barely afford his own bills will they refuse to give us extra help due to living together? Does anyone know how much your partner has to earn for them to give you extra support. I've tried them online calculators but not sure if they're accurate or I've filled them out correctly. Anyone else having money stress whilst on maternity leave?

Your entitlement will be based on your household income. Have a look at the benefit calculator on turn2us, enter both your incomes where asked and it will tell you if you're entitled.

If you live together both incomes are taken into account. If you are on a low joint income you may be entitled to UC but there are too many factors to take into account to say definitively yes or no without you providing a lot more information.

Hi hun I’m currently 21+4 and have just split from my partner for various different reasons, I had no clue how universal credit worked but knew I needed help so I just went to my local job centre for info and they were amazing!
Looking online can be helpful but sometimes it’s easier to speak to a human being face to face!
Hope you manage to get the help you need!!
