Heavy bleeding at 5 weeks pregnant

Hello all,
I've had very heavy bleeding this week at 5 weeks pregnant so I'm pretty certain I've had a miscarriage. The early pregnancy unit won't see me until at least next week to confirm this as they say it's too early. Has anyone else suffered a loss at this stage who can advise me how long I should expect to see a positive pregnancy test result for? My GP asked me to test today and then again next week(I'm not sure why as wouldn't it always show positive this close to a miscarriage?)

Take two of the same brand now and in a weeks time. If the line is fainter the second time or non existent then I would say unfortunately does sound like mc. I had very similar situ so thoughts go out to you!!

This has happened to me twice this year. I'm sorry OP. I gave it about a week to test again and got a negative result. Here's hoping for a sticky BFP soon for us both
