How early did you see a consultant if complicated preg history?

I've been told I'll be under a consultant for my pregnancy. Many previous complex preg problems and losses. Just wondering when that usually is? How often and what their involvement is compared to mw?

Thanks.

All my pregnancies have been consultant led sue to a range if issues, I started seeing them at week 12

ozmund · 28/08/2019 22:27

I'm consultant led due to previous losses, age and blood clotting gene. My first appointment was around 10 weeks (referred early) then 16 & 24 weeks. I have further appointments at 28, 32 and 36 weeks

12 weeks due to suspected cervical incompetency and history of extremely premature delivery and neonatal loss..I guess it depends at what point complications appeared in previous pregnancies

Thanks. I am 5+6 so v early but GP did mention seeing consultant soon which I was surprised about as I thought much much later on.

I see mine every 3 weeks from 28 weeks. Had one at 16 weeks.

PurpleViolin · 29/08/2019 11:12

Thanks. Seems like everyone much later on than I am.

Have a autoimmune issue that can be flared by pregnancy so I know I'll be under extra for that but not sure if that's all or if they will do something else re the baby?

Had mix led and saw the consultant for the 16 week appointment.

MajorFaffington · 29/08/2019 11:35

I am consultant led due to thyroid issues and saw consultant from 7ish weeks in both pregnancies.

PurpleViolin · 29/08/2019 15:24

@MajorFaffington that's what I have so that explains it if that's a common reason to be seen early. Also have history of loss too.

Thanks all.

I'm consultant led due to recurrent miscarriage and hypothyroidism. My first appointment with them isn't until 14 weeks, although I've had my TFTs checked twice already.

I’m consultant led due to previous complications, anti-E antibodies and having had chickenpox during pregnancy. I have my first consultant appointment at around 17 weeks. No idea what’s going on with the antibody levels thus far which is so frustrating. Last pregnancy I was checked and reviewed every 2 weeks from 8 weeks onwards. It all seems to have got a bit lax in the 7 years since 🤔

Oysterbabe · 29/08/2019 21:31

SleeplessinEastSussex · 29/08/2019 21:50

I started seeing mine at 6 weeks

BeaverPeron · 29/08/2019 21:56
