Hi
Just wondered if anyone is pregnant in Leeds and has chosen between LGI and St James ? I'm very early on but I'm a planner and had previous negative experience at St James when I had an ectopic so planning ahead and looking at other people's opinions helps me.

If you have made a decision, why ? Was it just distance or did you take others things into consideration ?

Thanks

I had both my ds in Jimmys. It was a lot closer to our house and meant we didn't have to drive through the city centre.
With ds2 he had a few problems with his temperature and his heart. They really took care of him and spent time explaining what they were doing and making sure I understood what was happening.
He had follow up appointments at The LGI and the care was just as good there.
Where we live now you can have a tour of the hospital to see what it's like and they give you all the information on wether you can have a water birth etc on the labour ward. Maybe your midwife could arrange something like that for you?
Congratulations Smile

Had all of mine at LGI and I can't fault the staff.

I didn’t have the best induction experience with my first at LGI and it ended in an emergency c section. I don’t have good memories of the post natal ward either. I worked at LgI at the time albeit in a different department so I expected a more positive experience but unfortunately wasn’t the case. so this time with baby no.2 i’m going to go to St James instead

Hi @ididntdoititwasher - following this out of interest as another Leeds mumsnetter....
I'm 5+6 and already under the consultant at LGI as I have blood clotting issues. I imagine I'll go for LGI for that reason along with the fact that I can walk there from work for any appointments etc. Like you I have negative connotations of St James's due to a miscarriage, but would be interested to hear first hand experiences from local mums....

No, but I was born in St James!
